Re: (Skyrim) Huge fps drop with ENB

So I did a clean install with no mods and added Real Like ENB that suggests v.113 which does indeed affect performance a lot less (but still does). Then I updated only the .dll with newer versions (132, 221, 236, 265) to see what happens and even with the same ENB settings, performance would degrade...

Re: (Skyrim) Huge fps drop with ENB

So I stumbled upon this video which was very interesting because it shows FPS with several different ENB and Vanilla. This confirms there's a huge performance hit with most ENB sometimes even greater than 50% drop. I guess then having 30% of Vanilla on my setup is somewhat normal behavior... Since t...

Re: (Skyrim) Huge fps drop with ENB

So I figured I could use MSI AfterBurner to monitor my GPU and when I get to the main menu about 550MB Vram is used, I then load my save and after a few minutes I have 1900Mb used. So does that mean the game is saturating my graphic card and I should disable mods or lower texture quality/resolution ...

Re: (Skyrim) Huge fps drop with ENB

So I finally managed to update my drivers (14.11.2 Beta) and recovered access to the CCC. Please check screenshot and tell me if all settings are correct. I installed MSI AfterBurner 4.0 Anything you want me to do with it ? I'd rather not burn my graphic card as it would be expensive and complicated...

Re: (Skyrim) Huge fps drop with ENB

I reverted to default ini (removed my custom files, game recreated them) and the fps is terrible - with or without ENB - (probably because of mods that need ini tweaks).
I only modified bFloatPointRenderTarget=1 and uGridsToLoad=7

Re: (Skyrim) Huge fps drop with ENB

Well I made a lot of tweaks to my .ini files. I tried reverting to default .ini but my game would crash >:< So I get about 14 FPS when looking at the ground (pavement in Whiterun) and 17 FPS looking straight up at a cloudy sky (in both cases 60 FPS when pressing Shift + F12). I have a lot of mods I ...

Re: (Skyrim) Huge fps drop with ENB

Tried these settings no change. I do not have access to BIOS (it's a Mac) so I'm not sure I can disable hyperthreading. I tried installing another ENB called Performance ENB (now called Tamriel Reloaded ENB) I got even worse results... Is there anything in my SkrimPrefs.ini and Skyrim.ini that could...

Re: (Skyrim) Huge fps drop with ENB

Set UseDefferedRendering to false (which seems to disable half of the effects) and that improved my FPS by ~1-2. When I disable AA in the console from within the game it improves my FPS by ~1. Yes it's the only game I use ENB with (other games I play don't need it) and no I don't do 3D programming. ...

Ok and without ENB ? It's the gap that I find disturbing.
