Re: Kalicola Enhanced Graphics ENB

Thanks for the beta kalicola, I'm going to try it right away! I might try and get some good screenshots and upload them here.

Since you said you appreciated feedback I'll tell you what I think, I love the color palette and the SSAO, it just looks beautiful, there are just three things I didn't like about your config, that some interior lights are too bright (there are some rooms in which a light can be too much), that some items in the inventory and book pages look a little bit too bright (depending on the situation and the lightning, but I think that's just how it is right?) and that nights/dungeons are a little bit too bright as well, would love to see them a little bit darker.

Everything else is wonderful, and thanks again for your work!

Re: Kalicola Enhanced Graphics ENB

Inexile: thanks for the feedback. You are totally right, I fixed some of this right after I uploaded :-) but still, the light sources in this game is very inconsistant, and that becomes even more aparent when using enb. Some pointlights in helgan keep is so strong that the walls and objecs around it casts bloom and flares.. But pointlights outside at night looks fine.. Problem is that it's the same parameter controling them both..
Speaking of nights, I want them dark ofcourse, but I also like the idea of moonlight. The nights can look pretty awesome with a little light, compared to complete darkness which kind of ruins the beauty I think.. I want it dark, but pretty...

Played with lens flares yesterday, got some very good results, like the effect of the sun blindind you when looking at it, without the use of corona. And small lensflares going of from from the shinyness of your weapon :-) good times indeed. But with these settings fire will bloom out the whole screen, so that's a bitch :D

Also, I don't know why objects in the inventory and loading screens look so messed up.. I will try and track it down. Could be something in effects.ini or my palette..?

Re: Kalicola Enhanced Graphics ENB

I've tried hard to contain the brightness of the menu items and unfortunately it required me to do a massive overhaul because it is affected by many different parameters. Fine tuning ENB is all about making sacrifices in the end and it can be very frustrating. The settings that seemed to affect it the most I think are the direct lighting settings, night more so but I noticed day affects it too. And even ambient day changed it too. I remember your bloom setting for day is crazy high, I wouldn't be surprised if that might be affecting it(hope not cuz I think that's what gives your setts such a different feel).

I'm at work now and I don't have your config on hand so I don't know if you use the HD6 code but what seemed for me in my config to affect it the most was the brightness settings under the dark nights sections of Helios' code. Most likely it's a combo of all that stuff. I hope it doesn't change your config too much, it's really one of the best and most unique configs to date!

Re: Kalicola Enhanced Graphics ENB

Joey: Thanks for the kind words :) Yeah, I think you are right, that many parameters are affecting the inventory and loading screen objects.. I will try and solve that, without ruining anything.. I actually took my enb with me on work, so I can work on it in my eating brake :D

I have tweeked alot now since last upload. I've tweaked the palette and colors, to get a bit more strong colors in there. Lowered the ambient light a bit to get just a bit more contrast in there. My biggest challenge at the moment is getting lensflares to kick in from your weapons when running around. But magic spells are creating insane amount of lensflare if I get it to work on the weapons, so I think I might be running head first into a wall :(

By the way Joey, I look forward to giving your ENB a spind ;)

@Kalicola

This is for you :)

Image

Im quiet speechless :)

So far im loosing round about 30 fps (50% Enb overhead, quiet heavy) but still can keep Realtime, as soon as im happy with the Result i will try optimize on the Speed :)

ENB off = 60 fps
ENB on = 30 fps

Re: Kalicola Enhanced Graphics ENB

I am getting some cool lensflare of weapons and here are my settings:

LenzReflectionIntensityDay=0.8
LenzReflectionIntensityNight=1.0
LenzReflectionPowerDay=2.5
LenzReflectionPowerNight=1.9

you can see a bit in this pic here..

Image

I remember taking this pic and the flare was a lot more but the angle I settled on was this one which is less noticeable but you can still see it. I am however afraid that only weapons from Jaysus swords are actually triggering it but I'm not sure. It may have to do with the properties of the actual weapons themselves.

EDIT: or maybe it's 'Weapons of the Steel Age' or something like that, i'll have a look to be sure..

CruNcher: Thanks, can I keep her? :)

Joey: Nah, can't get it to work the way I want it.. So, I'm keeping the lensflare sutle.

I finally got some time to work on my enb. Turns out, that I pretty much reworked the whole thing. Switched away from HD6 postfilter 5, and used 2 instead, and I'm getting some really nice results. The goal is still the same look I've always aimed for, just using a different method this time, and I'm really liking it. And it actually fixes some of the problems I had before, like the sun blooming out the whole sky. Now, the sun looks amazing :D
I also accepted that eye adaptation can not be removed no matter what you do. So, now I'm working with it, and not against it. All in all, very good hours spend, learned alot. I will post a few screens in the gallery thread.

Sure put her on you're Desktop ;)
and once i finished you can add her as a Companion (this is not her Companion appearance, but her lets go out @ night one not really lore friendly @ all ;) ) as well :)

Hm are you sure of this you can actually completely disable it in the Creation Engine if you want in imagespace like many other PP effects via the CK also going into console and using teofis should shut it down (careful it will disable all PP).

Though not sure if completely disabling it is the right way indeed, but im fully concentrated on what you see above so i didn't looked yet in any other parts ;)

Here is one way to manipulate it http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/8149 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xvlnKFjqEYE

I find UE4 team showed a nice eye adaption in their Demo http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NUvLoFbw ... age#t=232s you could try tweak Skyrims on in that direction with the Help of ENB :)

Re: Kalicola Enhanced Graphics ENB

I have tried that mod before. It dosen't remove adaptation, but speeds it up so you notice it directly. But it is still very much there.. I found some pretty good settings for it though, but it means I have to redo the days and night because the adaptation is reacting different now..

I also don't want people to rely on mods to make this enb work as intended.
