[REL] Half Life 2 ENB (DOF/SSAO)

Hey all,
im a bit new to this so would appreciate some feeback on this. Ive edited the existing 0.075 HL2 enb as i found the dof/ssao as they were in it to be pretty bad. I think ive got a decent config for it now so here goes

I tried to make the DOF unobtrusive and not just blur all over the place. It looks a bit better in motion, but unfortunately it does blur the HUD at times and i cant stop that. Anyway heres the link to test it out for yourself. Install instructions are in the readme as HL2 requires the ini and dll in 2 different folders.

Yeah, well I would really like to see the offical ENB for Source engine (especialy for newer version like Portal 2 and CS:GO since they have fully dynamic shadows so it would have more possibilities for presets configuration). Source engine really needs a graphic enhancer like ENB, it would really benefit from it. Also, there are many games based on Source engine and many ppl would use it, so it would not only be a benefit for us, users but also for Boris, as He would get much more attention.

Thanks! Good to know someone likes it. Tho ive teste dit out more and for some weird reason it doesnt seem to work for the ravenholm level. Not sure why

That is not the same, not comparable.
You can use Cinematic mod and ENB together :twisted:

That cinematic mod is an abomination. Its actually disgusting what they do to HL2 with that mod. I liked ENB cause it only changes lighting and adds some post effects. HL2 is an amazing looking game even today and that cinematic mod takes a shit all over the great artwork in the game

First of all: You don't have to use ist. If you don't like it...it's a personal taste and there are some or many, who like it.
Second: They are one. One single man has made 11 versions of that mod, all together about 50gigs of data.
Third: I do think, even if you don't like his work, you should respect it. Because it's made by one single man and because he spend so much time in creating a very unique flare and atmosphere to HL2, but even more, he didn't only created new highres textures and models, he added jigglebone characters, several new techniques like dynamic shadows, dynamic music etc.

I guess, if he just made everything highres and added those techniques, everybody would love his work.
It's just that he put hands on Alyx (and all other characters, but most complain about it or hate him for changing Alyx), so they look totally different.
But all people complaining about that just forget, that these new looks on charakters are optional.
So if you don't like them, leave them as they are or just replace them with original looking highres models.
HL2 isn't that amazing anymore today and Cinematic mod is one way to try to get it nearly up to date.

No, i give the guy credit alright, its alot of work for one person. I just personally dont think HL2 needs any of its models changed or anything. I love it as it is.

I just did a short test in HL2 EP2, im afriad the performance isnt great on this PC so SSAO is off, but heres a DOF test in motion. Watch it in fullscreen and 720p to be able to see the effect properly

I think you have no idea what you talking about, if you do not like the multiples models characters of CM11 you can use just the originals, but the work has made fakefactory is much better and hard.

You can't be seriously when you says you don't like the Parallax Occlusion Mapping, HDR, Dynamic shadows, various bloom/postprocess presets, reworked the whole maps/retextured (maintaining the original look), etc, etc, etc... I can understand you are a ENB lover (me too) but cmon man...
