Re: TES Skyrim

Mindflux, that snow scenes looks awesome :) Stop being so modest, your screenshot rocks.. Can't wait to try it out! what's holding you back from sharing it? What else do you need to do with it? I'm just curious, cause it lookse dope to me!

Unreal: Those screens are amazing. I can't belive it's the same game!

Opethfeldt: I only want to know one thing... When are you releasing that new config of yours? Looks out of this world!

And now, back to my own humble config, which I'm struggling to get to look as awesome as what I'm seeing in here... I'm trying to cut back on the colors a bit, and get a more GI look, inspired by opethfeldt.. Bloom definatly helps with that, but it is also destroying my nice blue sky, making it alot more white. Oh well. We'll see where it goes from here. It's still alot of fun to play around with.

He's using Opeths ENB with ENB weather (I think) vanilla grass with glorious grass mod. That's it. Also, until I see some other pics of this game, I'm just going to assume it only looks good in that one area and one weather type.

Re: TES Skyrim

With filmic curve shader, i decided to stay with it. It turns off dynamic adaptation, but im configuring it to be overall nice. At least, snowy areas dont go bursting with a bloom, snow texture is clearly seen. Ill tune up the shadows, though.

@mindflux: ;)
You've done a really beautiful looking preset (and still working on it), but what about your vintage thing?

Re: TES Skyrim

Techuser, Deadense, and Evok99, I would be happy to share my setting with you. The only thing is, I use a bunch of other mods with it to enhance it and get it looking just how I like it. I use The Imaginator (although not much with this current 114), Realistic Lighting, The realistic lighting patcher, revamped exterior fog and further dark dungeons. All these have to be used to get the look I have in my screens. I can make a zip file with all those in it. Kinda like Opethfeldt's ENB archive file on Skyrim Nexus.

Also, my D3D9.dll file is the custom one that Boris only released for a day. The one that some folks had trouble with (flickering). I don't have that problem so I use it. It disables the ENB wrapper on the loading screens, so your save files load quickly. I was getting 3 minute loading times on the previous .114. Now I get the same speed as vanilla Skyrim. As far as I know, the current .114 should work fine with my settings, so you probably don't need the custom one that Boris removed, so I won't include that.

On another note, some bar and tavern interiors are really light, like there is a fog applied to it. I haven't for the life of me been able to fix this. It's not bad looking, it just stands out from the other interiors.

I'll zip up the files and post them on the forums for custom presets. I'll add a link to this thread to the location...

Here is the link to the preset: viewtopic.php?f=11&t=962

Re: TES Skyrim

Hey fedorrrz, good to see you around old chap 8-) Cool set of screens too.

Thanks Seerauber (hola amigo) and kalicola, I'm glad you like the look and I wish I could make the whole Skyrim share the same aesthetics, but I'm not sure I have the skills. To be honest, my setup looks like a week old turd in pretty much any other location that Falkreath, and it's just a crazy amount of work to go through all the weather templates - especially as after making certain changes in the setup all the templates need to be adapted again. I have been considering building a setup around the weather example Boris did and then using the same template for all locations, but it's still just an idea... Regarding the snowy shots, it's hard to see in the screenshots but due to the adaptation not playing nicely there's too much contrast and that in turn makes the whole image look muddy bleurgh most of the time. Also, I'd like to have a bit more neutral tones...

Nice progress, kalicola, I think you're definitely getting in the right direction. I too find bloom very difficult to work with, especially as it tends to make the far distance look washed out and there are no depth controls. I guess you could try increasing EIntensityContrastV2 to bring some more crispiness to the image, or what do you think?

DrSarcasmo, I think the washed out interiors are probably because you have fiddled with the interior contrast and brightness settings with RL. I can't remember why that happens anymore, but I would imagine some of the vanilla interior imagespaces have weird settings. Other possibility is that they're using dungeons imagespaces, but that's not probable as I take it that your dungeons are not washed out?
