Re: TES Skyrim
I think the fog is a good thing for distant terrain, it hides the crappy lod landscape and trees and helps blend it into the background. The problem is that it starts to obscure the mid-range enviroment; even at 1.0 the fog will start to grey things out at a relatively short distance.

It's well known problem for many SSAO implementations in games and very hard to fix in some of them, like in Skyrim, because fog is applied before effect is computed (and it's can't be computed before, because scene depth is not available). I know how to fix that at cost of no hardware antialiasing and a lot of changes in shaders. Better to wait for development kit, may be it will contain required sources or shaders to make life simpler.
Techuser
Use fade distance of ssao instead of decreasing amount of saao.
Tried to find spoiler plugin for the forum, but no luck, perhaps it's named somehow without "spoiler" tag.
Btw i tried to check the bug with transparent rocks near waterfall and don't see anything like that on my pc, so if someone have it, forget about fix.

-"Vintage style" from Techuser's config is so great. Some pics with v2.2 ( v2.3 isn't good for me, men :| )and set ForceAnisotropicFiltering=true ( why don't u set it in your config? It doesn't drop any fps).
-And here is some pics with EvoFq3o0's config, i'm really like it, a "Fantastic Style", view distance is very very good. @Techuser: U can mix his view distance for yours?
-My config
-Sry about my bad English.

Keep developing your config, man, thats the fun. Those latest ss are wip, the config posted in nexus is diferentBeelzeboss wrote:Hey, Opethfeldt, are those latest screenshots from your current config on the Nexus, or a as-of-yet unreleased work in progress? It looks absolutely fantastic either way and you've pretty much achieved what I was working towards with my own config so I'm just going to use yours.

Re: TES Skyrim
EvoFq3o0's config certainly gives you the best Fantasy-like setting. Awesome job mate. (Are you working on that brightness problem in Markarth and other bright places?) Nice dark nights but still very playable. It's the best config that I found for my AMD 6790 setting.
