Hey everyone, I'm having a small issue that I simply can not figure out how to configure. Using DoF I notice a near blur that will not go away no matter how close I get to an object. The far blur works perfectly fine, but nothing ever gets perfectly in focus. I noticed the near blur by toggling ENB on and off.
Here's a picture with the near blur.
Here's a picture with DoF disabled.
And here's a picture with ENB disabled.
You'll notice that each image gets sharper. The question is, how can I edit the start range of the DoF so that items in focus are sharp, as they should be?
(This is a bit more noticeable in full resolution, here are the direct links.)

@Buster
Personally, I didn't like the default ENB DoF text file. I went with Bokeh DoF and Tilt Shift for ENBSeries instead.

I might have figured it out. It actually might actually be the transparent SSAO bug, which is why I can see through my character. Is there a way fix to this?
Thanks, Arobotperson

Re: TES Skyrim
I've been doing a little more fiddling with the night. In a nutshell, I was able to reduce the brightness of waterfalls, webs and splash water decals by playing with either EBrightness, EIntensityContrast, or both. For this brightness issue, compensating with EAdaptation doesn't seem advisable (unless it is to make things even darker, hm.. that's a thought), as lowering these values made the problem worse.
EIntensityContrast does a fantastic job at dulling the brightness of those decals, but unfortunately it also dulls the overall image (see screenshots) and light in a way that I personally don't like. It doesn't look bad imo, just not my personal taste. Maybe if I learned to be a lil' more subtle...
Right now I'm settling with a decreased of EBrightness and increased EToneMappingCurve (I have to play more with this) and then increasing enbseries.ini light intensity values to compensate. It's not as effective, but it preserves the original colors. I know you guys knew about this stuff, just wanted to give you an update on my efforts, since you've been so helpful
Thanks a lot to everybody that helped me with suggestions and tips. You guys rock!
Oh, and I found out more about my invisible tree shadow problem. Setting ShadowCastersFix to true fixes it. Apparently without this option the trees were ignoring the fact that they were standing in a shadow.

Re: TES Skyrim
I can confirm it's a problem with the version or a driver issue because I turned SSAO off and it still persists.
EDIT: I just switched to v121212 and it works perfectly. Maybe it's just a Nvidia issue, I doubt it, though..

--JawZ--:
I'm using the wrapper. I got it working now with skyrim, I changed the keys around, cause my keyboard doesn't have scroll lock button. Thanks for the help
After seeing the hobbit I was SO inspired to make a hobbit enb setting when I get home. But then I got my good sense back and stopped before it was too late
The 48 fps was pretty damn awesome, I think it help improve the 3D ALOT, the 3D was so much more comftable to watch because of the 48fps, everything was just sharp and smooth unlike any other movie I have seen.. This is definatly the way epic movies like this should look like. Finally we are getting somewhere
Blackheart6004: Wow, that image with the sun beams looks great! And I think Stakado's is one of the best enbs I have tried yet, it's great!
I finally tried out sweetfx with my preset, and it really does DO wonders! The way vibrance is adding saturation is awesome! I think I will keep it.. I really just hate to install more shit into the skyrim folder.
Here's a few screens of my config with and without sweetfx. Yes yes I know. My screenshots never goes beyond helgan, riverwood, and whiterun. but as long as I'm only level 4, you're going to have to live with that Oh, and yes, I need AnisotropicFiltering, check

@ Blackheart6004
Nice atmospheric sun rays
@ Buster Hymen
Bloom blurs the image a little aswell, try lowering it and see if the bluriness goes away. Also try disabling only DoF to really see what it affects by setting the effect to false.
@ Kalicola
Great that you got it to wrok eventually, no Scroll lock what kind off an alien keyboard do you have
Yeah that would require some amount of tweaking both with the ENB and CK
Maybe I need to see it a third time then then I can really compare all three versions of it
Anyway, try using the default settings of Cineon DPX gave me some good looking effects. I Haven't gone though the SweetFX effects in depth yet though. But SMAA antialiasing and Lumasharpen is the best effects of them all no doubt, way better sharpening look than FXAA in my opinion. FXAA introduces way more noice with sharpening than SweetFX does.
The third set of pictures you can really see the benefits of using SweetFX together with ENB

Re: TES Skyrim
I've a problem, when I use an ENB (I've tried a lot, even kalicola's), I have to modify the interior settings to change a value (ambient, direct lighting, bloom...)
and I cannot use sweetFX neither (even when I add a line in the enbseries.ini) ? I cannot find a solution anywhere.
I'm using the wrapper version (from 1.19 to last 1.30).
Thanks for your advices.

Re: TES Skyrim
You need all of the ENB files, and rename the SweetFX dll file to something else...
I have this in my enbseries.ini file:
Same directory of game .exe and ENB files, should be all files from SweetFx, with this change:
d3d9_sweetfx.dll (dll from SweetFX that I renamed)
I have this in my enbseries.ini file:
Code: Select all
[PROXY]
EnableProxyLibrary=true
InitProxyFunctions=true
ProxyLibrary=d3d9_sweetfx.dll
d3d9_sweetfx.dll (dll from SweetFX that I renamed)
