Re: S.T.A.L.K.E.R Shadow of Chernobyl
some tests with radiosity in-game GI:
GI off:
GI on, 8 samples:
16 and more:
kinda weird, but with sample amount increase (its called photons in console), overall picture gets closer to an original w/o GI
64:
there's also some other params, however they affect overall image in more sertain way
i dont like when posted images stretch html pages, also i hate huge amount of heavy *bmp files in one place and at the same time i'm laze to make leet preview with new yandex desing

actually GI is a light bounce shader for sertain lightsources... it is not applied to the sun or hemisphere light... only point-lights and characters flash-lights.

it works rly bad... and it's only good to make flashlight brighter in all kinds of "dungeons and labs"

Correction: Works well if you know how to configure itAgainstAllAutority wrote:actually GI is a light bounce shader for sertain lightsources... it is not applied to the sun or hemisphere light... only point-lights and characters flash-lights.

It's a well guarded secret....AgainstAllAutority wrote:share your knowledge with us then some proof screenshots would be great as well.cicala wrote: Correction: Works well if you know how to configure it
ok, ok, ok
I am busy, but gimme a bit of time to gather up some screenshots and comparisons and explainations of the console commands used _clip _depth _photons and so on
I will use Autumn Aurora with ENB since this is the ENB site.. lol, but it was a shame Autumn Auroras base config didn't work at all in Lost Alpha
(btw do you know a way to get AAuroras base config to work in Lost Alpha ???...)
But I'll post it up soon, don't worry. Remember this is an experimental feature that I think was dropped, its one of the earliest games I know to have any kind of Global Illumination, it can work but its sensitive, as in you gotta be careful how you configure it otherwise it will either kill the performance or make everything bright.

Any news on making an ENB work with the Lost Alpha? Really want to play this game but the jaggies I am getting on the grass are just horrible. Going to try to play with alpha test MSAA in game settings when I get home in a few hours. Does anyone have any ideas to smooth out the grass or foliage in general? I do not recall this game ever looking this way. I am running an Nvidia 660 at default driver setting the last drivers before the ones introduced couple weeks back. (Sorry, at work)
I would be ecstatic if I could just smooth some of this out and jump right into the game. When I checked out Crysis 3 I thought the same thing about the grass that it sucks and is an eye sore. Is there something wrong with my head? It's almost like the screen door effect DLP projectors can produce when you are sensitive to them.
Hope I am making sense. Thanks my friends!
