We have pretty much the same system except the GPU difference 780 (Kepler) vs 970 (Maxwell, ROP CUT) :)
If I remember correctly - maxwell cards can run 4k natively, and 970 is definitely faster than 780. And it costs less xD

Yep though still most avg consumer believe the ROP Cut (Nvidias PR has hidden from everyone) hurts the Performance in terms of Frame Time fluctuations alot and would like to turn of the 500 MB cache ;)

Im personally thinking that's not entirely the case sure it limits the Performance currently compared to the GTX 980 but it will beat the 780 in the future a lot, even in 1080p when the Load is going up with more features and under DX 12/Vulkan especially (because that is Nvidias Supercomputer Calculated Design Goal, and their overhead load prediction) ;)

The Design Goal for the 970 is pretty clear

1080p = 60 FPS
4K = 30 FPS

and even with the limitations it's doable optimized especially under DX12/Vulkan in the future :)

What about 1440p? Should be soild 60.
GPUs aren't that much different when it comes to 1080p and 1440p, 970 needs twice less power tho. And is slightly faster.
Meh, don't believe in magic of DX12 at all. It might be slightly better than DX11 but nothing like mega-fps-boost-superspeed-PCMaserRace-Holy-Grail microsoft is advertising. Another "buy WinXX! It's AWESOME, IT SUPPORTS NEW DX!1" So I think both cards will do pretty much the same job except 4k.

I wouldn't calculate that way think of VXGI and the Hardware optimizations for Maxwell and the OIT enhancements this will all come into play, when you combine all these loads (per frame) and add for example Physx to it i don't think Kepler will hold up that good in the future anymore.
But this is predicted and Calculated you will just have to turn of some options as a Kepler user and compensate the Load or hope that 3rd Parties gonna be able todo some equal solutions that run nice on both Architectures (Balanced)

Though the Research Effort behind things like VXGI for example is gigantic not that it's hard to write a Global Illumination you can do that in mere Hours but to optimize it and improve it takes years.

But yeah i also play with the option of reducing Resolution especially looking @ all the bad textures that float around there it makes not much sense very often to be @ 4K @ all im mostly only there for the AA result currently because of the Shitty internal MSAA boris improved MSAA overhead though sounds heavy vs MFAA for example :(

1440p + Boris improved MSAA + MFAA

Might be actually a very nice combination indeed :)

But i gonna swtich drivers first and reevaluate

GTA V v0.271 beta [TEST] - Comparaison Screenshots

Btw amazing work here, it's pretty stable even with extreme values, just a bit of fps loss when setting the sprite values to high, great tool !

SweetFX + ENB thats a pretty master waste of valuable system resources.

Not at all, my SweetFX preset eat "zero" fps, ENB same thing...
I run this "master waste" preset maxed out @1440p with (45-60fps)

Re: GTA V

Kay guys, I really need your help right now. Can't decide which looks better. Trying to preserve details in bright spots, so lowered direct light a lot (x64 is default vanilla), but now lighting become dull. Here's a comparison.
Direct light mult x22

What do you think?
I'm ready to trash those details in bright spots just to get realistic daylight.
