Glad that you like the idea! I am also interested in seeing where I go with this.. I am on my 3rd iteration of the basic DoF method for now. Still struggling with the math of the focus plane... trying to figure out how the hell everyone came to the ways they use since they are so different from the ones you get from photography and hyperbolic distances etc.Oyama wrote:Aiyen
Ha. Nice ! Had this idea as well, kind of 'pre-colouring', overall, via prepass, and tonemapping of blurred areas. I dropped the idea, because I thought it would be a bit too many controls....
Interested in where you're going with this, though.
I also tried to include the palette texture just because I could... if you wanted something that functioned differently from the lens texture... and otherwise do not use it for tonemapping in enbeffect.fx.
As for number of controls... well I do not know if you have seen the way I setup my code.. but I hide the controls away in individual files.. so adding tonemapping etc. is 2 lines of total code in prepass.fx... and ofc. I still have fewer overall then you do since I do not use as many overlapping pieces.
