Re: TES Skyrim

everyone
And I seriously mean everyone, there've been some great shots these last few pages! Really loving electricsheep, Confidence-Man, Asgaard, aal... blah everyone is doing a wonderful job! I'd love to enumerate specifics, but I really have to get to bed. I wanted to share my latest. In the snowy images I've been playing with Directlight, Bloom and IBL, so if there's anything there that stands out to you, lemme know... particularly the bad if you see it. That's what I want to nip in the bud! This is, obviously, the latest iteration of Lumen which is as set not released since it's not done. Without further ado I give you... random stuff.

Ohkay
Thank you dear friend, much appreciate!!! ;)
Awesome shot, as I already say on Flickr... :)

Jafin16
Thanks a lot!!! :)
Well, the 1st and the 2sd are 'perfect' for these climate conditions... But, the pics in the sunny snow are "too close" of the vanilla light for me!! It's just my opinion with my tastes, it's not to criticize!! ;)

Re: TES Skyrim

Jarfin16: The style looks great and blends lovely I would say.
Only thing I can come up with based on those images would be to try to lower the blue saturation just a little bit. Perhaps also the green ever so slightly. Perhaps only in the bloom if you have controls for that.
Alternatively try to increase contrast by a very very small amount and it might also produce something really nice.

All the best and keep em coming! Like the style!

Re: TES Skyrim

Thanks guys, you're too good. Indeed, I'm going for the lo-fi video camera look so I'm not really that bothered even though exposure is occasionally through the roof pretty much like it was on original equipment. It's true that my preset is pretty rough around the corners and it often looks pretty bad since it's difficult to keep everything in check, but it's great to hear you appreciate the look. I think it's really interesting how different the game feels with different aesthetics, almost actually like a completely different game.

T.A.Z.
Thanks, great to hear that from another car junkie :P As I've said earlier I really like the look of your preset, it's very different from mine but that's the thing, practically all kinds of visual styles can be cool if employed with good eye and the style is consistent.

About Deliverance, I wouldn't recommend it at this point unless you're particularly interested in the game or following the development. There's very little content in the game (it's only a very small area with not much stuff in it) and it's not optimized all that great. It does look pretty good, though, and it's always interesting to see a new CryEngine project, especially one of this scope.

Looks great, all!
