Hi Boris
Seeing all the great achievements you've made in skyrim enb development, do you have any plans to make additional improvements to oblivion eventually? I for one would love to test. I still love oblivion.
Thanks

Re: Oblivion enb update
Wrong forum category, topic will be moved next day.
Not sure that users want this when OBGE exist (never tried it, but guess it's same as mine mod). Personally i played Oblivion with version which did for it and it's available for download, with properly tweaked temporary variables characters looks very nice, but environment is same poor because of game textures.

Re: Oblivion enb update
Thanks, I helped ethatron and tomerk with testing obge 2 and 3. It's great, however seeing how much optimizations have been made with enb over the last year I thought maybe Boris could do some great things performance wise for oblivion. One is still pretty intense on fps. Especially Sao. No real great Sao solution for oblivion IMO. Nothing close to the quality of skyrim.

Did they ever manage to get shadows working?

Re: Oblivion enb update
Well, if users will be interested, i can do it, but accent is mostly on characters quality, as i said, environment in the game looks ugly because of textures and horrible speedtree. Find TES Oblivion users to vote in any topic here for the mod development.

Re: Oblivion enb update
@Confidence-Man: Sadly, no. Shadows were never figured out. And if I recall correctly the buggy version of shadows that was work-in-progress was so performance intensive that it wasn't going to be viable even if they did work properly (shadows kept overlapping, multiplying the darkness of the overlay where they clashed).
@Boris: I kind of agree with you - even with OBGE the game has nothing on Skyrim. And since OBGE already adds so many effects (the water shader is immense) the only thing ENB could really add is slightly better performance. For the time investment, I'm not sure it would be worth it. But it's up to you really, it's your time

Re: Oblivion enb update
There is a bad part about OBGE - it is dead for quite some time already. Their google repo indicates no activity for a year already, and i believe it's not going to change... Too bad, they had some awesome features planned - hair/fur shaders, tesselation(all the limitations were lifted by V3, wiki even contains some dev resources for this), realistic skin for characters(it works already, but requires some debugging), water caustics.
