Yeah it came to my mind soon after cliking "post" and looking at the screenshot again what you were talking about. That is strange indeed. I also do find it strange that there are only 6 climates. Never looked deeper into to it to be honest, I just tried adding weather types and that worked. Googleing dind't help either. I guess I'll have a look at the .esp that comes with climates of tamriel, maybe it helps figuring this out.

Well, realistic lighting has everything set up good, all weathers are assigned to certain climates. Strange.

That lonely SkyrimCloudy is indeed odd - could it mean that SkyrimCloudy has a change of appearing everywhere?

But what's weird about having only one climate? Those are the settings for whole the continent (or whatever) of Skyrim. The main world weathers are under Tamriel.

Other than that, I've just been using Region Editor to setup weathers for each region:

Or maybe there's something I'm not getting now?

And thanks Dinkledorf, glad you liked! I'm going for a bit of a mix of realistic and cinematic look now...

No, you're right. I was just confused, because at first I thought that the climates had the function of the regions, meaning that they where relevant to when and where a weather type occurs. But after looking into the CoT.esm I figured out that it has nothing at all to do with it :) Now I finaly get how it works (this also explains why skyrimcloudy is always used as the standard weather when using the ck), oh and could you tell me where I can find the region editor? I've been looking the past 10 mins for it, but simply can't find it.

Good call, now we're all on same page and can really dig into our little projects :D To be honest I got a bit confused as well and started suspecting I've gotten it all wrong.

Region Editor is in the top menu, select World > Regions. Don't forget to select Tamriel from the pull-down menu and scroll down to find the weathers. Finally select the weather tab from the right.

It's slightly odd that the weathers are among the regions - took me quite a bit of time to actually find them as the online documentary is really poor.

Thanks a lot !
I'm looking forward to finaly adding some clear wetaher patterns to winterhold, plus I can now finally add new weather types properly.

Edit:

"It's slightly odd that the weathers are among the regions - took me quite a bit of time to actually find them as the online documentary is really poor."

Exactly, that's what was confusing me the most, because to me it made total sense that the climates determined where which weather would appear and after finding out that regions are responsible for that I started looking for the Regions section in the ck, but couldn't find it. All of this wouldn't have happened if the documentation would've been a bit more precise.

Damn, I think I just sent you an accidental PM. I really need to wake up...

Anyway, I think the Region Editor crashes quite often when closing it, so better not do it.
