Posting a few daytime CoT wip shots (nights are broke atm and not fixing till days are settled). I think ambient/sky lighting needs the most adjusting for days as shadows are just too dark for me (especially in second shot--standing in one and can only make faintest of details among solid black mass).

Did you try adjusting AmbientLightingCurveDay= ? Things work a little differently with CoT but I have found that lowering ALCD (mine is at 0.6) will lighten/bring out detail in shadows without washing out the rest of the scene ....

I just adjusted skylighting to fix shadows. Do the screens look washed out for you though? On my monitor (granted its old and needs to be replaced) it looks about perfect now (well screen wise for these, naturally wip is still far from it--especially on foggy/bright days pretty blinding so have to make some serious changes or live with it).

No, they don't look washed out, they look fine. I just meant that that was a benefit, in general, of using ALC to adjust shadows. Haven't tried doing it though skylighting but will have to try. What setting exactly did you adjust?

Edit: I'm stupid and forgot one of the changes.

Glad that they don't seem washed out then and thanks for the tip.

Do you mean settings I altered from my upload for CoT so far? Day's ambient and fog (both intensity and curve) were only thing touched first set and then added around .3 or .4 to skylighting for the second. I was pretty much happy with days after that until I ran into some of the 'super bright' days CoT added compared to vanilla. Forgot, I also changed my Darker Nights from 1.2 back to 1.0 on night's contrast (was lazy and nights were too washed out at the time but it bit me in the *** as had to rework things anyways later).

I'll have to make adjustments again later and see how it impacts other weather conditions as sometimes I just accept the issue for the sake of all other times and weathers. Unfortunately its pretty bad so will likely have to do some serious changes now that I encountered it. Not even sure exactly what's causing it yet although seems would be bloom, direct, or fog (hopefully not bloom since effects pretty much everything).

Anyways, changes to CoT (final version and not using any Options) so far (besides Darker Nights fix which did help quite a bit) if anyone wants to test it out (very much wip as just started it today):

From [Environment]:

AmbientLightingIntensityDay=1.125
AmbientLightingIntensityNight=1.25
AmbientLightingCurveDay=0.125
AmbientLightingCurveNight=0.5
AmbientLightingDesaturationDay=1.0
AmbientLightingDesaturationNight=1.0

FogColorMultiplierDay=0.525
FogColorMultiplierNight=0.45
FogColorCurveDay=0.45
FogColorCurveNight=0.875

[SKYLIGHTING]
FilterQuality=1
AmbientMinLevel=0.4125
Quality=1

May end up reducing my Ambient back down and further increasing skylighting as might just fix the overly bright days I ran into. Worth a shot anyways.

@ Happykeen
Same issue in the rainy weather then trillvilles ENB characters and objects are completely drowning in the shadows, but else it looks really good happykeen :)

@Unreal
There is something missing in most of the Daytime shoots see for compare what i posted

@eldyraen
I really like those fall shoots :) especially this one

Image

COT seems a really good base to work with based from the results i saw so far and also because of it's popularity :)

also this shot
Image

it seems very comparable with what i posted and even the same area and comparable TOD :) COT seems especially here very strength.

This purple tint light is this a COT effect when it's getting into dawn ?

Image

Guess i will do my own try after Scarlet ENB on a Scarlet PBL Real version i have found some very high quality references that come close to Skyrim very crazily from the art part and i gonna use these as reference :)
Maybe i gonna even redo textures though i first have to evaluate that :)

Cruncher: Curious, what's PBL? ;) And no clue if its purple for all settings or just mine as using Matso's Invisio as a base (as liked all the different settings to tweak). Might be though as CoT does add quite a bit of color for my enb compared to Vanilla (but again, could just be my color correction and settings). CoT adds so many different weather types its hard to keep track and can make it a little annoying to work with at times, but I like the results so far.

Noob question, what exactly is Sky Lighting? Does it affect nights too?
