Great work Soolie especially the way how you did it is really interesting so you using papyrus scripting to randomly place your own 3D Model in the 3D Space, though how can this Model be volumetric are you applying a shader to it ? I guess that your clouds being a solid 3D Object wouldn't allow to fly through them (though not really important for this usage) ? Quote: So in a way they are similar to the "Volumetric Fog" around the mountain tops? I wonder if your "Volumetric Clouds" for a lack of a better word would be affected by the Sky Statics setting inside the Skyrim weathers as Volumetric Fog is, among other things?? I wonder the whole time seeing it if it isn't possible to use this volumetric fog for Clouds as they pretty much both the same, soolies approach seems different though visually it seems to work fine very exciting. I mean in real we don't need the clouds to be able to being penetrated by other objects believable we just need them to be floating around and looking like real 3D Objects with depth and not a flat texture fake so Soolies approach is nice nevertheless http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I1_f0z3Ht-k http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WPmlkaut6Us |

Guys time has come for a new EWE Alpha release It is a new file so if you still have one of my old alphas delete it and replace it with this. I have only altered 3 weathers in this one so far as I had to start in new esp file to rot out the problem I had with cloud layer rendering being weird. I have not encountered again with this file nor have I found the reason for why it happened in the first place. But as I said this version has no such issues at all. The weathers I have altered; fw 81a - SkyrimClear fw 10e1f2 - SkyrimClear_A fw 10e1f1 - SkyrimCloudy_A The last one is not properly tweaked yet as I more or less copied over the fw 10e1f1 with small adjustments based on the original values difference between them. http://www.mediafire.com/?4acnmfxadr26pdm |

@Kali- Not totally positive but I think my moon comes from this- http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/25 I remember downloading it before even the NMM was out so I'm not exactly sure which one it is. I have a few random other moon zips so let me know if that one isn't it. |

@Rubber-De-Flubber Have you used Fraps for taking screen shoots? some lovely shoots ruined by compression artifacts. nice weed/plants with first pic |

@OhKay Nah, that would be Imgur causing the compression artifacts. Could you possibly recommend a better image hosting site, please? |

--CruNcher The clouds arent real volumetric clouds, just a cunning arangement of double sided planes with animated texture offsets, soft shading and an alpha falloff effect so each plane becomes invisible when viewed from a shallow angle (this prevents most of the 'obvious plane' artifacts.) This is what it looks like in NifSkope ![]() It also doesn't look that bad when your in the cloud either, ![]() Although it never feels like your really inside the cloud. However, I might be able to fix this by using image space modifiers or quick weather changes when the player is at cloud height. |
