I'm using the adaptation from Opethfeldt's ENB. After switching to the official enbeffect.fx-file for v0.199 shadows are darker but the problem Tercerobootleg mentioned still exists.
I think I will try a few other things and post here if i find out what causes the issue.

I'm having an issue with my ini and getting the settings to take effect.

I crash when I try the console command refreshini.

I also cannot alt-tab back to Skyrim after I alt-tab away from it.

These are all minor issue compared to the lack of CTD's but I would really like control over my ini settings.

I did get a file appear in my data folder called enb_reference.ini after doing a saveini console command, which had all of my skyrim.ini setting in it.

Any thoughts on these issues?

What ini files are you talking about? Skyrim's or ENBseries. If you are trying to reload the Skyrim .ini files I'm not that surprised if it crashes but it should not happen with the enbseries.ini.

Are you in Full screen or window mode? With window mode I have no problem with alt+tabbing in and out of the game, it's when I have full screen mode running, though I did experience that it took a little while before the game actually started up with a version, not 0.199 though that gets stuck forever in between loading the game and not loading the game.

Yeah, I was having trouble with windowed mode. I might try to use another method and see if it works better.

I switched to the default effect file and still had the same issue as well. My skylighting ambient minimum setting is pretty low at 0.1. so I have a feeling I'm seeing it more than most.
