Re: TES Skyrim 0.233

Boris, please bring 'ForceFakeVideoCard' back. For people with older ATI cards, that is the only way we can get it to properly detect ENB in the Skyrim Launcher.

@electricsheep26354

Thanks, man. I'll have to try it out, just need to slightly reduce the contrast, lighten up the shadows and limit the highlights a bit. I already run with the ELE suite, but thanks for pointing it out. :)

Can't wait to have some time to tinker about with ENB for a bit.

Re: TES Skyrim 0.233

Version updated, download again

Displacement changed (parallax occlusion culling) to another method which is simpler for water modders as it give height as summ of three textures. Previous version was visually better for me as waves, but it have artifacts when moving camera near water, nobody play with static camera, right?

Goliatron
Version 13.7.13 was the last with support of old videocards, after two years from game release it's time to upgrade videocards which are not supported by game at all. I don't care about that variable as do not test mod with it enabled (and i'm sure it's awful by amount of bugs), but it's very annoying to see posts from users who set ForceFakeVideocard=true and say that it's the only way to make the game to work properly. I think old versions of the mod are good already. Any modern 100$ videocard is faster than high-end of unsupported generation.

Никакая это не иммитация, покрутите камеру вокруг и посмотрите, где "блики", а где солнце и попытайтесь найти хоть на одной фотографии, где такой бред есть.

Re: TES Skyrim 0.233

I edited the alpha levels that Boris was talking about if I'm not mistaken, the difference was bigger with the first 0.233 version, now there is still a difference visible at low angle.

Screnshots were taken with the first 0.233

I second that. The effect seems to be slightly less obvious with the new version. This can probably can compensated with proper height maps i guess.

BTW, thanks for sharing Opeth, i'll try your edited version for RWT.

EDIT:
Opethfeldt, nice work on those alphas! The sea actually looks windy now. Added two screenshots of my results below. As you can see the viewing angle is higher than on the pics i posted before. But the effect is definitely more visible. Latest v0.233 here.

Re: TES Skyrim 0.233

If this looks more windy, could it be made possible to add a variable something like "add white colour layer" to let the waves look more or less pronounced depending on weather conditions? That would be a cool feature i think.

Re: TES Skyrim 0.233

VadersApp
I can't make foam of waves, because it must depends from something and this something must be perfect water displacement maps and amount of their blending predefined as limit for "generating" of foam. This is tricky and incompatible with water mods, users will start to ask why some mods always have them or how to get them.

Height of new parallax type was visually tweaked to near same value as old. If this difference is very important and the same with any parallax maps, then i'll do changes, but don't forget that big value bring more artifacts.

Re: TES Skyrim 0.233

Boris, sorry my english is not so good, i think you misunderstood what i suggested. I thought of a variable to pronounce of the heightmap depending on weather conditions. Stormy weather more height, sunny weather less height.

Re: TES Skyrim 0.233

Thanks Opethfeldt for those files :D Looking even better with new version (even with my lack of screenarchery skills!)
