Re: Fallout 3 / New Vegas 0.249

I'm not planning any changes to this version, don't have useful ideas which will work without issues.

If it pops up when a friend sends a message or you open it yourself the games geometry will vanish for 5-10 seconds and it's like you can see through walls and stuff.

I have an AMD card if that matters.

It's not that big of a deal since I can just disable the overlay.

Sorry if this was already reported
I have this problem as well, but I have an Nvidia card. WinXP 32-bit, 650 Ti, currently have drivers 332.21, but it happens regardless of driver version I've used. I'd just assumed this was always going to be a compatibility problem between ENB and Steam, I didn't realize it wasn't a known issue.

As long as the Steam overlay is displaying anything, rendering is terribly screwed up. Grass becomes solid blocks (loses alpha transparency), terrain and objects render in reversed order or not at all.

Does this mean this is the final version of ENB for Fallout?

If so, I respect your decision but I'm sad to see it all end here. :(

Sometimes it's hard for people to understand what you say cause of the noise in their head Boris.

But there are people who understand that you might still change stuff if you do have any useful ideas which will work without issues.

Re: Fallout 3 / New Vegas 0.249

Hi Boris,

I have a similar 'progressive' performance issue as another user has reported, where after a few minutes my performance drops by about 30%. You indicated this is probably related to the ENBhost.exe memory manager performing many read/write swaps (or something like that ^_^ ) due to incorrect ENBlocal.ini settings. I noticed that if I open the pause menu and then return to the game, the performance returns to normal (VRAM emptied?).

My CPU is i7-4600HQ, 24GB RAM, and my GPU is GTX 780m 4GB

My relevant ENBlocal.ini settings are:

[MEMORY]
ExpandSystemMemoryX64=true
ReduceSystemMemoryUsage=true
DisableDriverMemoryManager=false
DisablePreloadToVRAM=false
EnableUnsafeMemoryHacks=false
ReservedMemorySizeMb=512
VideoMemorySizeMb=3072
EnableCompression=true

What would you suggest to avoid the 'slow down' issue, if anything?

Also, a couple other ideas for FNV ENB:
- Any chance you could allow for similar SuperSampling/Antialiasing as you do for GTA IV in ENB 163? I love how it works for GTA IV, where you just specify the target render dimensions in the enbseries.ini file (I guess would be in enblocal.ini for FNV...)
- Would it be possible to add sunrise/sunset parameters for some/all of the variables? It's tricky to get these transitions to look just right...

Thanks for your consideration!

Re: Fallout 3 / New Vegas 0.249

tapioks
Hard to say anything, users of gf7xx have this issue, but gf6xx never reported it. Is this how driver handle video memory data or my memory manager statistics doing that, don't know, only testing by myself may help and nothing else. In case of fallout things even worse, not such costly texture packs as in skyrim, your card have huge video memory size, but still... Anyway, try automatic memory size detection (don't remember if it exist in fallout version) or set VideoMemorySizeMb to amount of your shared video memory size (if you don't know how to get it, then try 5000).

Re: Fallout 3 / New Vegas 0.249

Thanks Boris, the FNV version does not have auto-detect for VRAM size, but I will try at 5000 as you suggest. I had thought it was meant to be set to less than actual VRAM amount..

Re: Fallout 3 / New Vegas 0.249

ExpandSystemMemoryX64=true

ENBoost patch does not work, an application error when trying to run.

ExpandSystemMemoryX64=false

Works but more stuttering.
