Re: TES Skyrim 0.109 BETA

Interesting. Look closely, and you will notice that SSAO is working, it's just a lot less pronounced.

Actually, it's possible that it might be exactly the same with my rig. I have an extremely intense SSAO configuration and I haven't used it for awhile, so I probably wouldn't have noticed.

Re: TES Skyrim 0.109 BETA

Hm, actually you are correct. I loaded up again with 0.109 and used Shift+F12 to turn it off, and it looks like this:

0.109 turned off - http://i.imgur.com/I8nJB.jpg (again the exact same screen, but this time with official HD pack enabled, esps weren't on in the last post even though I thought it was)

The weird part is, I upped the AOAmount bigtime (up to 1.25) + enabled SSIL for the test just so I would be sure to spot the difference, and yet it is less pronounced than what I used to have with AOAmount=0.35 and no SSIL.

Did you manage to verify that SSAO still works, though? I would imagine so, if DOF works.

Looking at the screens, I'm not sure what I see anymore. It's getting too late.

Re: TES Skyrim 0.109 BETA

Well, no, I can't say for 100% sure that I can. The screens confuse me aswell. There is a difference between the shadows on the 0.109 pics with ENB enabled/disabled for sure, but it's nowhere close to the obvious SSAO effect on the 0.102 screen. Look at the edges of the gate for example, where the SSAO is clearly visible on the 0.102 shot, while I don't personally see a difference between the two 0.109 shots at that spot. Someone with a better eye for this feel free to chime in. :)

Re: TES Skyrim 0.109 BETA

Right, with my rig SSAO is very pronounced with these settings:

SamplingQuality=0
SamplingRange=0.7
FadeFogRangeDay=7.0
FadeFogRangeNight=7.0
SizeScale=0.6
SourceTexturesScale=0.6
FilterQuality=0
AOAmount=1.0

Notice how the whole image gets very dark.

Quick screenie here

Re: TES Skyrim 0.109 BETA

Guys, I think there is something wrong with the way we are testing. After reading Boris's confusion with our inability to use DOF/AO, i loaded things back up, and DOF is working in .109 for me.

I'm still trying to figure out if AO is working or not. I'm comparing screenshots between 102 with AO enabled against 109 with AO enabled vs 109 with AO disabled, and I cannot see a difference.

Obviously we need to pay more careful attention to our graphics settings, and make sure our skyrim directory is clear of any files related to any d3d9.dll related effects.

Of course, first take care of the basics.

Try the settings I posted - if you're still not sure whether SSAO is working, it's not.

Have a look at the last few posts, exactly this is what we're looking at atm, as I also have DoF working in 109 but SSAO just doesn't seem to be working. I've provided screens aswell on the last page (including 102 comparison)

@Mindflux - Tested your settings just to see if I would notice any difference, but still unable to spot any proper SSAO with 109. Screens with your settings:

Re: TES Skyrim 0.109 BETA

Version is updated, seems the problem was in antialiasing, but fixed only for in game options of it (msaa) and don't know how mod will work with forced values in drivers, etc. Try it.
