Re: TES Skyrim 0.422

Can't wait to see the new sun ray effects while walking through the Riften mist at the break of dawn. Thanks for your hard work, Boris.

Re: TES Skyrim 0.422

So, I'm experiencing an issue that I've never really noticed before, but I've also never really utilized the concerning effect before so I can't say it's linked to v0.422 specifically (haven't tested with other versions).

The problem is about the VolumetricRays effect. It looks pretty nice, however I seem to have a second, invisible sun on the other side lol. Most noticeable near sunset (or vice versa), when the rays are powerful in the West where the Sun is setting, I see equally bright rays in the East above the horizon, which looks very odd obviously. It should be darker over there instead. It is as if there was another Sun about to rise, except there isn't (the rays effect normally doesn't even work before the sun rises or after it sets). Any idea about what might be going on here?

Oh, and I have a subsequent question: what do the RaysVisibility parameters do? It ranges from 0 to 10, but I barely notice a difference in various weathers (just slightly brighter near the horizon).

Thanks!

Re: TES Skyrim 0.422

Rays are rendered only once that's for sure. Maybe this happens because sun going below the surface and as landscape is actually single sided thing and don't have volume, rays are traced below it, go through back sides of land's triangles. I can fade out this.
RaysVisibility is only when mist enabled and dense enough to see this parameter in action.

Okay I see, I suppose that could be possible. Strange thing is though, that it doesn't seem to happen for other sun related effects like sun intensity, sun glow or the regular sun rays. Well, I'd greatly appreciate it if you could find out and see whether it's fixable or manageable!

And thanks for the explanation.
