Re: TES Skyrim VR 0.410
My helmet no longer works after autoupdate of oculus (and without update it refused to launch any applications, saying that i have some notification pending), black screen with no light and popup message about hardware problem. I even installed latest video drivers (which i hate to do), but didn't help. Maybe one day i will try install win10 and see if it will work there, but now vr modding is over.

Noooo
I hope you get the issues solved. I don't have an oculus, cant help sry.
But maybe you think about windows 10. I bought a win10 key for 6€.
Also, I could be a tester for you if you add new code like detailed shadows from enb se.

Re: TES Skyrim VR 0.410
Most likely they just did that for a purpose to force people move to win10, because since 14 jan 2020 win7 not supported by oculus, that's why i terminated autoupdate as i felt they will do some shit like this to me. But anyway, i have no interest to pay any money for some trash which gonna spy on me and display me ads, even to give hard drive space for win10 installation makes me angry from just thinking about this.

i respect your concerns about windows 10. i switched off everything during the installation of windows 10 that wants to collect data or avoided online accounts. and at least you have current security updates, I think win 7 is no longer supported, right?ENBSeries wrote:Most likely they just did that for a purpose to force people move to win10, because since 14 jan 2020 win7 not supported by oculus, that's why i terminated autoupdate as i felt they will do some shit like this to me. Is it possible that you integrate the code of detailed shadows sse into enb vr without any major adjustments, as an unofficial test version.
The grass in skyrim VR is so ugly without shadows that me and others would happily accept any bugs with this.
As I said, I would also like to be a tester and exchange testresults regularly.

Re: TES Skyrim VR 0.410
I can't develop the most features in VR without testing and tweaking them, effects are not portable from flat games to stereo.
I never used any windows updates in my life and never had issues cause of that. It's a win10 trash need lot of updates cause badly coded, read what insiders tell about it who did it.

Re: TES Skyrim VR 0.410
Hi Boris,
I'm a long time fan and have been an active user of the TESV VR ENB since you first released it, I just want to say thank you for the amazing work. It really is an amazing enhancement and an incredible accomplishment for you to make it work. I understand and agree with your concerns about Windows 10, Facebook/Oculus are also a privacy nightmare. If you still want to continue modding for VR I'm hopeful that the community would be able to fund a non-oculus headset like a Vive or Valve Index. Both of these only need SteamVR and are confirmed to run fine under Windows 7. You would be avoiding the hassle of W10 and getting rid of a Facebook service on your computer in one stroke. I'd be personally able to put $50 towards it.
Regardless of your decision with that, know that your creation brings joy to myself and many others in the Skyrim VR community!

Re: TES Skyrim VR 0.410
Honestly, i don't want to buy another one vr helmet, even if it is free for me. Modding of vr games is harder than usual ones and so few really good games which worth to modify. I can't do many things for skyrim vr because of performance limitations. And i picked up oculus after wasting much time comparing things, what is less shit than others. Oculus had win7 support (wmr do not) and controllers use batteries (vive use accumulators which have very short period of work and die after 6-12 months), do not have anything spinning which also can die easily as in vive. Im tech guy and perfectionist, when i see every helmet have it's own problems, ask who the hell designed them, is it so difficult in 2020 to make electronics? They are not pioneers at this and there are tons of examples what is good and bad, basically just controllers are the new thing which need lot of testing which are more comfortable for the users. I was not lucky with oculus anyway, it have tilting problem half fixed by their calibration tool and heavy color banding problem in dark areas totally unfixable and for many games and movies destroy immersion of vr. I can't get rid of computer freezing for several seconds and driver crash when using vr, i changed motherboard, tried another win7, video drivers, unplugged everything, usb2 and usb3 drivers, just not happen with old videocard. I have just 16 gb of ram and oculus with it's services + steamvr services consume all of it. Some people must have their ass kicked for bad coding. So forget it, i have bad experience with vr and obviously it's not a thing which i can unbox 10 years later, plug-in and have fun again, this is simply impossible in this crazy world.

Re: TES Skyrim VR 0.410
it's strange to hear this, my vive will be 5 years old in a couple of months, and there have never been problems, although I have played thousands of hours.ENBSeries wrote:vive use accumulators which have very short period of work and die after 6-12 months
Anyway, I also wanted to thank you for your work on VR. Skyrim VR is still my favorite game and without ENB it is impossible to play it. Thank you!
