The difference is pretty huge, not only on characters but very noticeable on vegetation as well.

Boris,

The new Detailed Shadows effect looks great (no visual bugs noticed so far) and for a very minor performance hit (less than 2 FPS on average on a normal gtx1080).

Thanks for taking the time to convert so many awesome effects to the new SSE engine!

Anyone else seeing this? The particle effect clashes badly with the skin specular effect. Can use one or the other but not both.

And thanks so much for the shadows Boris, it makes a huge difference. It even works with moonlight.

Sorry to reporet a bug. (not just current version - few previous versions were affected too)
ENB Statistics detects interior factor but does not show day or night. Every time is TOD Factor 0.00
Adjustments for interior day/night work ok, just need to do trial-and-error every time.

Only interiors are affected. Outside is ok.

Interiors mostly dont have sun, so can't capture time from sun direction. You should use helper plugin for that.
