Re: GTA 4 v0.163

IMHO, .163 got better and faster AO and TAA and works fine with radeons.

and some of .082b dll cause artifacts for radeons (i've started a topick about half a year ago)

its a matter of minutes to transform enbeffect from .082 to .163 standarts

imho both enbbloom and enbeffect are fine for me, but majority of users will prefer enbeffect.fx (bcos all they need - god rays)

My main problem is not to convert the effect to 0.163 standards but this: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=1842&start=110#p44752

just the opposite of you and I have a radeon 6950 :S

agree.

enbeffect and enbbloom will be best, I also think.

Will this feature be added to other game-exclusive ENB versions as well like Skyrim, GTASA (you saw that coming, didn't you) etc?

agree.
try 13.1 WHQL driver - worked nice with 6950 (i used to have one) and 7970 (my current beast)

Marty McFly
I will not add this anywhere else.

Re: GTA 4 v0.163

Sun position? Cool! But it's not that complicated to get the sun dot in screen space...
We could even replace the sky with that...

enbbloom.fx or enbeffect.fx like AAA suggested should be enough as enbbloom could provide a blurred image and lower-res so :P

If you redo a new version of ENB, can you please (if possible) get us the possibility to have another render target like for DOF ?

My current DOF is done in effect.txt and it's full-res, so it's kind of overkill even if It's optimized to reduce the samples when needed, DOF in full-res is kind of stupid but I already told you about that on another topic, that I just needed the original image back after I did my DOF so I could have half-res DOF and full-res image.

SSAO seems to work on every hardware to me with the latest ENB... AMD & NVIDIA are fine...

And I do agree, 0.163 is superior. Much more stable too when I do modifications, 0082 used to fail after minutes of reloading. AO is much better too!

Marty
Not sure if it's very needed to have sun position on every games... you can get it on pixel shader if you want to, it's easier if it's HDR of course...

Cheers!

Re: GTA 4 v0.163

Probably better to make enbeffectprepass shader, but i have no idea how to make it for gta, because it compute depth effects in enbeffect.fx, motion blur also. To make multipass enbeffect or what?

Re: GTA 4 v0.163

Oh, I see...
Yeah, why not for the multi-pass enbeffect.fx, as people are going to do godrays anyway on it or something else.
Can be always useful as long as it's not too much work to enable that to your compiling stuff.
I'll release the DOF anyway here when I have time, it's just 2 passes and some bullshit optimisations to make it fast on full-res...
I just used a random clip function to reduce the quality if needed but yeah, it reduces the final image res too so maybe enbeffect.fx would be enough.

Also forgot to say :
On 0.163, the quality in Skylighting is actually changing the screen space shadows quality.
If 2 = high quality shadows, if 0 = blurry shadows, and that's probably what people are complaining with fuzzy AO which is just sky lighting that is low quality and not to 0 as we can't change it.

Don't know if you're aware of that.

Thank you!

I'm happy with every solution, it's just that my coding skills are not that high to create such a shader. I've read on your Facebook page that you managed to get sun position in shader and applied godrays to it but aren't sure if you should keep it. Any chance to get this?

bcos its not accurate) however sun size covers those mistakes made by weighting, but it also requires sky, horizont tweaked in order, so shader could detect difference in luminocity between sun and sky.
