Re: TES Skyrim 0.227
I actually tried pretty much everything, I am fairly certain at this point, it has something to do with the drivers, going to try to roll back and see if that helps.

Re: TES Skyrim 0.227
I'm pretty sure my AF is working fine. Granted, I haven't played anything without x16 AF in a LONG time so I don't really remember what it looks like without. I've noticed no graphical changes with 0.229 aside from the obvious new effects.

Thanks. You are indeed correct, and that fixed my problem. I should have known the driver update would reset everything...I just haven't updated it in so long, and when I did I was mostly focused on other things.--JawZ-- wrote:Every new installation of drivers reverts the settings to their default states. goes for both Nvidia and AMD last time I checked.
I have to say, ENB is simply phenomenal these days. I had a long haul (months) where my game was unstable (frequent freezing, ultimately my save games died with ILS requiring a lengthy "load a 'safe' save first, then load the other save" workaround). I finally managed to get it working, intriguingly enough by reducing ReservedMemorySizeMb from 256 to 128, and eliminating heavy distance LOD mods from my load order.
Now that the game is running...WOW. The water looks PHENOMENAL...those caustics just make me giddy! SSS, while subtle, brings just that needed touch of extra life to people and makes everything else that scatters look just a little bit more realistic. My frame rates are very good, and I've been able to bump up SSAO a little bit and keep my FPS above 30. Amazing work. Really looking forward to future improvements.
On that front, Boris...any chance you could make water caustics reflect as well as refract? I have been messing with Skyrim for months, and I finally took a short break last week to play something else. I picked up Crysis 3, which is probably the only game on the planet at the moment that I think looks better than Skyrim+ENB (it really does look stunningly beautiful.) One of the things about Crysis that caught my eye right away was its water, which also does caustics. It does reflective caustics as well as refractive, and seeing the ripples in water play across the surfaces of walls and ceilings and other objects around me almost had me jumping out of my seat. It is an effect we are intimately familiar with in real life, but seeing it occur in games is just...it speaks to the leaps we've made with the current generation of games. I think I would just die if I saw reflective caustics rippling across rock overhangs near water...it would add that last final detail to completely finish water in Skyrim.
Anyway, I know you have a ton on your plate. I know it may not be a modest request, but if you find the time, you would make this gamer incredibly happy.

I can't say for sure if able to make reflective caustics, because they require extra data. simple projection of textures to the top can't work, missing intersections (shadows) are very annoying and even if i'll make very little distance (let say 20 cm max), the shore will have caustics even if it almost parallel to water surface (not thought yet how to fix).

Well, you seem incredibly resourceful from a problem solving standpoint. You've done more with ENB than I thought you could almost a year ago now when I first found it. If you have time and give it a try, I'll be a very happy guy. If not...well, I'll still be a happy guy. ;PENBSeries wrote:jrista
