Well hold on.
Before people spend ages doing something that might be a complete waste of time, how many people are actually reporting problems with ESMx64 and SKSE 1.7A? Is it just that one guy in this thread? Because if so, then it's that guy who should be doing the testing.
Apologies if I'm missing something, I've only read this thread and not whatever is on other boards.

Re: TES Skyrim 0.251
Well, I'm going to throw in my input here though I admit it's more limited than others. I'm still using SKSE 1.6.16 and I never switched. I'm using SSME to implement sheson's patch and I haven't moved on to the latest version on 0.251. So why am I saying anything? I haven't touched any of it. Here's the thing everyone... The alpha was released for testing, bug reports, incompatibilities, etc. A POSSIBLE incompatibility should be reported to the SKSE team.
For months now, we've known that ExpandSystemMemoryX64 works just fine. It's only when you insert an ALPHA release of something (which I should say will NOT stay ALPHA) that bugs occur and that seems to be in extremely limited cases; at this point one very argumentative guy who's done this kinda complaining and blame laying before (I think it was the 0.221 thread or so). So, why remove a parameter that seems to be working and increasing stability for 99% of users? They can switch the damn thing to false and their "problems" will be solved. It would be far better for this person (who for some reason keeps having his name omitted from everyone's posts) to go to the SKSE team and point out the issue, which they, unfortunately, may not be able to test now because of the removal of the parameter.
TL;DR Let jonwd7 figure out his own issue and put the parameter back in so the majority can enjoy the excellent work you've done Boris. It's not your bug. Don't try to fix it.

Re: TES Skyrim 0.251
i tweaked everything based on this and couldn't see any problem with shesons patch (SKSE Alpha 1.7) @ all i hope this doesn't backfires now when updating, though maybe it's better who knows evaluating might show.ENBSeries wrote:Well, ExpandSystemMemoryX64 is good only for certain things and when memory manager enabled, it almost useless. For me it's very important feature for stability, even with 2gb x86 winxp.
yeah i would also advice very carefull take a eye on this and also everyone who has a preset in the wild look @ the user reactions to this change on their specific systems.OhKay wrote:agreed with above. some F-wit ruined for the %99 of us, luckily i'm still on v.251 before the latest 'downgrade' :?

Okay, let's give Boris a break with the thing...
Boris, please get that thing back so I can release my setups and tell SKSE Alpha users all is your fault !
Just kidding.

Re: TES Skyrim 0.251
prod80
"I dont care, I have both Binaries... the previous 251 I have zero issues, hell, havent seen a CTD or ILS for ages. New 251 gives me CTD on exterior world loads in heavy area's (fixed saves I use for setting up ENB) and ILS switching to exterior and CTD going from an "light" loaded cell into heavier cells. I just write what I notice. That I didnt test well enough the first time is my mistake. Im not going to start or participate in the more "heated" discussions going on. And this is all I will write about it.
I vote for the feature to return... people that have problems with SKSE or some mod because of it can simply set it to false and deal with the consequences."
I have to go with prod80 - the new 251 I am now CTD after an average 20mins whilst outside, before I could play for hours with the previous 251 so what's changed seems to have hit more of us in a negative manor than first realised.

Re: TES Skyrim 0.251
Maybe it's just me, but if only one person is complaining about an issue that no one else can reproduce in their games, I would assume the problem lies with the OP and his game only. Especially if the complainer has a history of pulling this kind of shit. For the record, I've been running the old 251 binary with the SKSE Alpha in place, using Prod80's Serenity ENB preset at its full settings, and haven't had a single problem.
