Re: TES Skyrim SE 0.415
Horizon color is used because sky hemisphere must be blended softly to background and no other parts of the sky touch background space, so they totally ignored.

Re: TES Skyrim SE 0.415
Thank you for clarification, this makes it easier, adjusting all the multiple weather .ini files, (to counteract the clitch)

Re: TES Skyrim SE 0.415
Game engine uses something called DALC "Directional Ambient Light Colors", maybe it has something to do with it? With Obsidian Weathers mod, famous "81a" weather:ENBSeries wrote:I dont know weather which have too much different bottom color to test it, but i dont see any problem for usual weathers to desaturate.
ambient light intensity 0.0 :
ambient light intensity 0.65, something like an orange light from below :
ambient light desaturation 1.0 :

Re: TES Skyrim SE 0.415
Checked code, it's the same as old skyrim have, so must be problem there too. If not, game code to generate directional matrix was changed, maybe it's vectors are not normalized. In old skyrim to the same variables i apply curve, so value close to zero must also bring orange color, but nobody reported, strange. Not sure should i touch it, existing presets will look different if they use desaturation. I will think of this, worth to fix bug or better leave it alone.

Re: TES Skyrim SE 0.415
I'm pretty sure everybody leaves that amb desaturation at 0. doesn't work. worth looking into.

Re: TES Skyrim SE 0.415
But if everybody leave it to 0, then why to waste performance for extra code in shaders to fix issue and to bother with it at all?

It would be useful.. (I'm not pushing for it, but it could be useful)

Re: TES Skyrim SE 0.415
It do work, but dont know why only with vanilla weathers. Anyway, i can't fix in old skyrim, that's for sure, i dont want more haters.

Re: TES Skyrim SE 0.415
My opinion: I think the ambient desaturation feature should not be touched. Its a very helpful tool to correct the ambient saturation of several weathers , and indeed presets would have disbalancements, mainly those with multiple weathers support. But the final word is yours, Boris. Whatever you decide, we will understand......Not sure should i touch it, existing presets will look different if they use desaturation. I will think of this, worth to fix bug or better leave it alone.

Re: TES Skyrim SE 0.415
Seems i did simpler ambient desaturation in old skyrim because of performance, shader constants are changed on cpu side, so no need to patch shaders with extra math. And it was not cause of desaturation, but curve, as 3 pow instructions are very costly to execute per pixel (i use approximation in other places, but with ambient it's not suitable). And that orange color happens because vectors of directional ambient matrix are not normalized, perhaps fixable by editing weather. If i remember, middle color also can mess result, so need to set it as gray or something in between of top and bottom, not something different.
