Re: TES Skyrim 0.241

Just downloaded and will test. Probably be a couple hours before I report back with full results.

Re: TES Skyrim 0.241

Boris not sure if this is the issue the texture is just not coming back fast enough from its mipmap state if i go in a certain direction i can see the texture fully loaded then i move out of the lod and the last mipmap stage gets loaded if i move back in it loads the highest mipmap state but way to slow in the moving direction im not sure how this has todo with threading

Re: TES Skyrim 0.241

Here is the texture fully mipmap state loaded when i come from riverwood

Image

Some Distance further away in direction to whiterun

Image

Still everything is ok

Image

Lod border (last mipmap stage) here the problem starts

Image

Moving back last mipmap stage stays for far to long compared to the other direction

Image

Further moving in still it doesn't change the mipmap level back :(

Image

gonna retest this behaviour with 1.8 and other Nvidia driver also

though Skyrim 1.8 is no real solution anymore without updated SKSE support :(

Re: TES Skyrim 0.241

ENBSeries i can definitely see some change when i tick VolumetricRays, but it looks more like a distant fog then a rays of any kind.
edit: i tried to do a comparison screenshots, but that "fog" avoids the shots somehow. Resulting images look identical except clouds had moved a little.
That's with all default ENB, and

Code: Select all

EnableSkyLighting=true
EnableImageBasedLighting=true
EnableReflection=true
EnableSoftParticles=true
EnableParticleLights=true
EnableSubSurfaceScattering=true
EnableWater=true
EnableUnderwater=true
EnableCloudShadows=true
EnableVolumetricRays=true
CruNcher got this one too. I can sometimes observe this right near player. Looks real fugly.

Re: TES Skyrim 0.241

The volumetric rays are nice. I don't really notice them poking through the clouds in cloudy weather, but in clear weather it's great. Really looks like light in the atmosphere.

One thing I notice is that the position of the sun seems to have changed, or the angle of light right around sunrise. Maybe it has something to do with disabling the sun being drawn at night?

Here's what I mean:

v140 - 7:45am, night cloud shadows on, cloud opacity at 100% (cloudfill band also made opaque in the CK to block sunlight), exagerrated direct light at night to highlight what I mean

Image

v141 - everything else the same.

Interesting we share Fermi are you using the newest WHQL Nvidia drivers 331.82 ? :)

i wonder if the Powermizer issues could cause such problems in the Engine if the switching stalls like they caused the freezes on the Windows Desktop so maybe testing without dynamic clock switching is also a good idea :)

Confidence-Man
Sun position not changed, but changed projection matrix and world space scaling, it's the only way to fix issues when clouds and sky meshes modified by users.

Uriel24
Of course it looks like a fog, but if you look in clear weather. Damn, is it so hard to understand how lighting of air works to not ask such things?

CruNcher
I will not help you with lods switching.

Re: TES Skyrim 0.241

Ah ok. I'll have to fool around with it.

Woods - those pics are in the tundra near one of the giant camps, looking toward the west.
