Better yet, they make a stand-alone PC version and say screw you to the consoles. I know I'm asking too much but it would be awesome!

If that Reddit user is legit (which it seems to be) my guess would be an E3 2017 TES6 reveal. That's not TOO far off... I can deal with that!

P.S. NVidia Hairworks on the dog would be nice, but I'd much rather see TressFX since it seems to perform much better on all platforms (both AMD & nVidia). Either way, though, hairworks or TressFX, it'd be awesome... Alas it's not.

Confirmed:

-Phisically based rendering
-Dynamic volumetric lighting
-Running on the Creation Engine
-No visible pop-in (that I noticed)
-Shadows are okay but not very detailed, might be because the demo is on console?

So, what do you guys think?

Re: Fallout 3 / New Vegas 0.267

I love the updated Facegen System it's the same state now as CCP or pearlabyss have reached :)

Rendering wise they reached a state like GTA V now :)

Though Rockstar has a nicer Fur System (Simple) but very effective Shader the Dog would look better with such one compared to a flat texture

Btw it was also Rockstar who introduced the Parent Relationship Face Genetics first

And simple PBR is also not really that impressive anymore if you saw all the PBR/PBS results of Games already released

Though it's a nice stepup from the Skyrim state and a very huge one from the Fallout 3 state of the Engine no revolution in terms of the Rendering but a nice Evolution ;)

AA makes a very good stable impression :)

Just a side note. Phycially based rendering is a bullshit marketing words, it's invalid.

Ummm... I gotta say I'm a little lost on this one too. How is PBR invalid?

PBR is a concept that every data from the game should be red from the real world, rather than being an artist choice. Look at Dice Frostbite Engine for example. For the new Star Wars game they went ahead and gather real life values of lumiance, radius, shape and color for every possible type of light in the game (http://www.frostbite.com/2014/11/moving ... te-to-pbr/, from slide 29). You need proper materials with real world data of specular amount, roughness, albedo color, proper rendering with some form of realistic reflections like SSR, global illumination, etc... otherwise the illusion of realistic lighting, which is the whole purpose of PBR, is lost.

What Bethesda most probably did, judging from all the gameplay/trailers so far, is just a change of Phong shading into a somewhat fancier equation. Everything else is probably just an imagination of an artist which breaks the main concept of PBR. Hence, Bethesda PBR is bullshit.

Re: Fallout 3 / New Vegas 0.267

Ah, if it's related to Bethesda's PBR, then yes, I get that. The supposed PBR in the trailer looked... sketchy, simulated... nothing like what I've seen in other games using it (e.g. BF4, DA:I, Witcher 3). If it's PBR in general Boris is referring to, then I'm definitely confused...

Re: Fallout 3 / New Vegas 0.267

3d graphics in games is approximation and simplification of everything to make it possible to render at all. Do you have physically based rendering or not - doesn't matter, because without proper lighting, textures, models and materials setups you still see crappy computer generated image. Talking about PBR is only matters when image is almost real life like and you just need to make no difference from photo, but in most games which managed to implement PBR i just see same crappy bumpy shiny thingy. And of course games trying to use so much simplified PBR that it not worth it, mostly they just inversely compencate reflection amount and still use dotproduct for lighting.
