Re: TES Skyrim 0.123
I can't remember the exact settings in those screenshots as I made lots of changes , but here are the settings I've currently settled on. My display size is 1920x1200, of course.kalicola wrote:Proto: Can we see your reflection and specularity settings? .. I've notice that, if you turn off specularity, then reflections will be off too. So those two settings goes hand in hand I suppose. Does reflection intensity increase if you increase specularity?
[REFLECTION]
Quality=1
FilterQuality=2
SizeScale=0.5
SourceTexturesScale=0.45
Amount=0.4
Power=1.0
//The reflection 'Amount' setting was a little stronger at 0.5 or 0.6 in those screenshots.
SpecularAmountMultiplierDay=2.35
SpecularAmountMultiplierNight=1.75
SpecularAmountMultiplierInterior=1.75
SpecularPowerMultiplierDay=2.12
SpecularPowerMultiplierNight=1.52
SpecularPowerMultiplierInterior=1.52
SpecularFromLightDay=0.05
SpecularFromLightNight=0.03
SpecularFromLightInterior=0.03
//These particular specular settings are based on work by obliver, and the usual others mentioned in link (inc. Mindflux ).
I tried different specular settings to see the effect on reflections, in the first screenshot I kept the same settings as above.
In this one I increased all the specular values by a factor of two, or more.
From what I can tell the specular settings do have an effect, but this is more prominent where light itself is a major part of the reflection. I could be wrong.

Thanks, guys!mindflux wrote:Proto
Indeed, brilliant shots! It's obvious that reflections make a HUGE impact is some scenes.

Re: TES Skyrim 0.123
It looks like the specularity settings affect only the floor specularity (logical), not the reflections, but of course I could be wrong.
I honestly didn't think reflections were too important, but after seeing them in-game, I have to admit I was seriously wrong as they add tremendously to the interior scenes. By default, the interiors are pretty dull and unrealistic as such, but reflections give them a lot more life. And it's not just the floor but walls and ceiling as well, basically everything:
(Yes, I was a copycat and went into the same location haha...)
As for the performance, maybe it could be possible to enabled reflections for interiors only? Reflections don't seem to be that important for exteriors anyway, and giving a possibility to disable them for exteriors would make it possible for more users to use them.
This comparison gives a good idea of the visual impact that's possible:
Without reflections...
...and with reflections!

Wow, that looks gorgeous! And yeah, an option to only have reflections in interior areas would be nice, in some exterior areas I'm really struggling performance wise, but I have a lot of frames to spare in most dungeons.

Wow the reflections look amazing! Can't wait for optimizations!
Also Boris about the video cards. the 560/660s are pretty quite cards. They get even quieter if you get the Asus DirectCUII variants.

Where can we get your configuration mindflux?
Re: TES Skyrim 0.123
Hello everyone! This is my first posting on the forums. Just thought i'd post some reflection screenshots, i'm trying for a more subtle effect (though it's proving to be a little challenging ) I'm still pretty green as far as changing values and such. I'd also like to thank Boris for everything he's done! Much appreciated!!

Re: TES Skyrim 0.123
Seeing both Vhorens and Mindflux screenshot, I really can't say, what looks better.
Subtile might be more realistic, but as we have reflections now, I actually want to see them.
And as Patney and Mindflux said: having exterior and interior reflections seperated would really be nice.
btw: has someone tried Enhanced Light and FX yet? The pics looks promising, but will it fit with ENB?

I use ELFX and it looks very good with my ENB. That mod is designed to fit with vanilla lighting so ENB should be fine in most cases.

It fits pretty well, although I've noticed some lighting placements he made can be extremely bright if you don't have dark interiors.CosmicBlue wrote:
