Noticed you added landscape parallax to Skyrim, is it also possible to get this effect in Fallout?

Re: Fallout 3 / New Vegas 0.263
Probably. Not sure, better to ask if terrain textures in Fallout are not used on anything else with alpha blending. And another problem is multipass rendering in the game, don't remember if it used for terrain, but if it is, parallax is impossible as it will look buggy (not applied to normal maps and lighting).

Re: Fallout 3 / New Vegas 0.263
Checked the game, it draw some terrain parts as transparent overlay, but with normal map and diffuse map both, so it's ok for parallax, The problem is different kind, such overlays have generic shaders, so there is no way to detect if it's terrain or some other objects and i can't patch 224 shaders manually (skyrim have only 14) to implement parallax. If i'll use automatic patching (but hard to make it's code), all objects will use parallax and without proper parallax textures everything will have bugs. I'll think more about that, but pessimistic.

Okay, would be awesome if you did find a good way of implementing it. I'm sure people will update textures that would benefit from it if it was available since there are still texture artists modding Fallout.

@Drumber,
Parallax can be enabled in Fallout, it has shaders built in for it, only they're not a very good quality, you get swimming fast.
If you enable it on the landscape texture sets and add a greyish heightmap you will have parallax.

Re: Fallout 3 / New Vegas 0.263
I'll check that bug, but haven't seen it.
Brightness of shadows depends from ambient lighting parameter under [EVNIRONMENT] category.
All new effects and mod development for fallout ignored, unless it's something simple and fast to implement, i don't have time for this now.
