Re: VRamSizeTest v1.0

Skinner
EnableCompression=false is better, because true is for systems with small amount of ram or x86 OS. VideoMemorySizeMb must not be bigger than "dx9 4064 mb".

I thought Win7 doesn't have the problem? Everyone with Windows 7 in here reports more than 4064 MB with DX9... Everyone with Windows 8 or 10 reports 4064 MB... both NVIDIA and AMD user .. or did I oversee some posts?

You think both AMD and NVIDIA driver changed something that resulted in that limit independently? Maybe we have to talk to Microsoft about Windows if something is wrong there

Re: VRamSizeTest v1.0

I've seen other posts with statistics, plus my own rig shows only 4 gb. Why this limit exist i don't know, but it's definetly video drivers, not os.

Re: VRamSizeTest v1.0

Thats a problem considering how bad GeForce forums are... Maybe if enough people post there we can get a reply, but I doubt :(

What about AMD forum?

Re: VRamSizeTest v1.0

@Jafin16, yeah, very happy with this rig, crossfire scaling (with XDMA)is very good (also with enb's).

Thanks Boris, I will look at my settings :)
Btw, could the dx9. V-ram restriction/issue in dx9 be caused by the new WDM 2?

Re: VRamSizeTest v1.0

So this limit only exists in dx9? Could this be intentionally, to force people using dx10+, or more likely forcing people to buy high vram cards like gtx titans?

Re: VRamSizeTest v1.0

How you can force someone to use dx10+ on dx9 games? And titan also have this limit.

Re: VRamSizeTest v1.0

Ah, okay. So a gtx titan X user with 12gb of dedicated vram receives the "4064mb result" too, when limit exists?

Re: VRamSizeTest v1.0

Yes limit is for everyone no matter if GPU has more or less than 4 GB VRAM..

Users have to use the DX version the game was developed with.. so if theres an "evil plan" from driver developer to force newer DX this would affect game developer first place... but this is an absurd idea, DX9 still very popular as far as I know
