Re: TES Skyrim 0.244
He probably meant that he can see the waves getting bigger/smaller when he changed the amplitude, so it's fine.

Re: TES Skyrim 0.244
I seem to be having some problems with fire effects in the latest version, as you can see in the images below. I tried it with all the fixes disabled, same thing.
Also, SSAO no longer appears to be working. I haven't had a chance to test all the different modes yet, though I did try it with denoiser on and off and had the same result; the sliders no longer have any effect, and the effect is not showing up. Here are my current settings. EnableAmbientOcclusion=true in the [EFFECT] section of course.

I doubt it comes from the AO (did you try disabling it ?) anyway....
Also, on a side note, 0.4 scales are really short ones, you're sampling 0.16 % with those. Are you upping your resolution to summits to set them @ 0.4 ?
0.7071067811865475 would not be that a hit much, and would be much more accurate, since your sampling range is quite low as well.
Just my opinion, no advice intended.

Re: TES Skyrim 0.244
Well, I feel kind of silly. Turns out it was my SkyrimPrefs.ini somehow got reverted. I recently updated my video drivers and made sure they were all correct after that, so the only thing I can think is that it reverted again when I opened the launcher and I hadn't set the appropriate settings back to 1 after that.
Well, at least I can tell users definitively that is the fix for the fire issue as well!

Re: TES Skyrim 0.244
Not at all, your insights are appreciated. I have found I am able to bump up the scale a bit with this latest code and still maintain basically the same performance, and I did end up increasing the sample size slightly as well. Very subtle change, but worth it to re-balance the increased performance.

Re: TES Skyrim 0.244
Most welcome !
Mark my words, Boris's algorythm can change ALL the way you perceive the game, from back to front
But this, I'm sure you already knew
And, considering your specs (I don't know your game inis / mods, though, and if your GPU is 2 or 4 GB), I'd go for a 0.707xxx size scale coupled with a 1.0 SourceTextures all the way, more even, especially with a close range, 0.16 or 0.2. (I've personally settled for 0.28 after many carefull comparisons).

Oyama can you post your personal AO settings? I think my PC can handle it and I myself also want pure high quality settings.Oyama wrote:Most welcome !
