Re: TES Skyrim 0.265

I guess that's the normal behaviour for Skyrim's annoying parallax mapping.

Here's a couple of examples that look good ingame (from Pfuscher I believe).

Any more surface details, or bigger height differences lead to distortions and warped textures.
Don't know which textures you're using right now, I didn't even know some of the vanilla diffuses had height maps.

Main page -> Download -> Graphic modifications -> TES Skyrim -> v0.265 -> scroll down -> download.

Sounds complicated, but if you've used the Internet before it isn't that hard to find.

Version updated, download again
Added parallax for terrain, some vanilla textures already work (alpha channel of diffuse maps is height data for parallax). Forced fps limiter for loading screens to 60 fps. Added parameter FixParallaxTerrain=true to enblocal.ini

Here is an example of invalid alpha height (at center it not applied as comparison), but this looks like small grass, could be useful

Hello. Thanks for update Boris! I have been waiting for this moment.
Terrain parallax is really nice ;) Here is example. I think we need update or replace landscape textures. This texture is made with B2M3.

Re: TES Skyrim 0.265

Yup, it's pretty fucking great!
It's just as annoying to set up as the 'vanilla' parallax (obviously), but I am very, very happy about it.

We will need to find the best way for some maps with smaller details, but even if used sparingly, this is a massive improvement to the terrain.

Re: TES Skyrim 0.265

I am interested in what is possible with parallax terrain, though I think the effect should probably be disabled by default. When used with textures that are not designed for the effect, the results can be very ... interesting....

Re: TES Skyrim 0.265

Any progress with detecting why shadows for some nvidia users are buggy?
