Re: Fallout 4 0.399

Yes, the direct lighting sun specular. It would be very much appreciated, since now, when you increase the direct light intensity, the specular doesn't scale with it.

EDIT: Also, I've noticed that cloud shadows don't affect water sun specular, would be worth looking into that

Re: Fallout 4 0.399

I tried to find where specular is, but saw that when step in to water, sss give bug on it. I'm so tired to fix this issue but it's still there and i need to find way to fix it, but out of ideas right now. So i will deal with it at first, then come back to specular.

Re: Fallout 4 0.399

I don't know how to fix problem with subsurface scattering. Game use stencil masks to pick sss areas for hairs and skin separately (maybe something else), but there is no smooth blending for "transparent" areas like beard or close to hairs and sss is not applied (in vanilla game too). So i used scaling of masks and converting to linear, but sometime water have masks which inside that linear space, so sss get applied. Changing stencil mask for water break it, reflection stops to work correctly. I don't know logic by which values of stencil masks are picked and which one means what type of object as indexing. Disabling sss is the only solution, because game vanilla sss is not intense enough and beard bugs are barely noticable.

Re: Fallout 4 0.399

Lucky, fixed that by excluding that particular stencil mask value in sss code. But most likely there are other waters with similar bugs and different mask values.

Re: Fallout 4 0.399

Oh so that is why that happens, thanks for the explanation. I was wondering.
