Re: TES Skyrim 0.171 beta

Thx Mindflux thx Boris now i get it and i immediately used it to create something @ Day Light which i thought would be only possible with a 3 Point Light Setup see my Angel Light @ Daytime Result http://www.ld-host.de/uploads/images/70 ... 91711f.jpg :)

Re: TES Skyrim 0.171 beta

Thankyou for that great update!
Weather recognition works now perfect! I made for each skyrim weather a own ini file. But then i must say there is Climates of Tamriel. It adds over 500 new unique weather ID's so im runnign out of place in the weather ini becasue the default skyrim weathers use already 84 places in it. I greatly would appreciate if you could rise the limit to lets say 999?

No, CoT weathers are not so much unique to make separate preset for each of them (i'm very bad opinion about CoT at all).

There is no need to increase it to 999.
One can contain several weather id.

What you need to do is categorize the CoT weathers. In CoT not all 500 weather are super unique, most of them are similar with subtle difference. For example take all the weathers that are "Overcasted/Cloudy" type and note down the weather IDs.

in _weatherlist.ini put
[Weather001]
FileName=CoTCloudy.ini
WeatherIDs=id1, id2, id3, .....

Similarly categorize the rest and assign them to another file.
This way you dont need to make 500 configs. I bet you will mostly need 10 to 15 config this way.

For vanilla, there is much less weather to deal with and each of them are different. So naturally makes sense to make config for each weather.

Re: TES Skyrim 0.171 beta

Pardon the slight off-topic not sure where to post this:>

Looked alittle into gamma correction, prbly interesting for some:
Found this page http://www.drkappa.net/?p=22
It’s simple, assuming a 2.0 gamma.
Apply gamma correction:
col = col*col;
Cancel display gamma correction:
col = sqrt(col);
Assuming a 2.2 gamma things are a bit different
Apply gamma correction:
col = pow(col,2.2f);
Cancel display gamma correction:
col = pow(col,1.0f/2.2f);
What im wondering is does this mean Kermles code is reverse?
//reverse gamma correction
color.rgb = pow(color.rgb, 2.2);

//restore gamma correction
color.rgb = pow(color.rgb, 0.45454545454545454545454545454545);

I tried swap em with a little change, should be same as 0.45454545454545454545454545454545 I think:>
//reverse gamma correction
color.rgb = pow(color.rgb, 1.0/2.2);

//restore gamma correction
color.rgb = pow(color.rgb, 2.2);

Had a go on the 2.0 one, is this correct?

//Cancel gamma correction
color.rgb = sqrt(color.rgb);

//Apply gamma correction
color.rgb = color.rgb * color.rgb;

Cancel last: little colors - Apply last: vivid colors
What is ideal 2.0 or 2.2? :?

PS: Thank you for the two last updates, they been awesome^^

Yersinia79:

you should read the discussion I, Boris and nexstac had here - http://enbdev.com/enbseries/forum/viewt ... 3&start=40

2.2 is the "standard" gamma value used in most rendering.

Re: TES Skyrim 0.171 beta

youre right i might set those COT stuff together ending up in nearly 60 different weather situations.

But anyhow, would it be possible to add SSAO and Skylightning also as own weather option ? Often those ned to be reduced an certain situations like Foggy weathers or Snowstorms.
