Still getting Freezes to death.. no wonder why, but freezes in general happens when i run, or ride an horse..
My current ENBlocal.ini (i'm using VSync) 40-50fps outdoors, quite a lot of stutters spinning or just moving though.. Whiterun is a big city and i'm not expecting to get smooth 60fps..
[MEMORY]
ExpandSystemMemoryX64=true
ReduceSystemMemoryUsage=true
DisableDriverMemoryManager=true <-- still don't understand what this and DisablePreloadToVRAM do.. are those variables "try and see if it works for you"?
DisablePreloadToVRAM=false
ReservedMemorySizeMb=128 <-- i could go lower but at this point, with just 64mb, what's the point of using it?
EnableUnsafeMemoryHacks=false <-- AFIAK, this is just for AMD..

Disabling Vsync and enabling Fps Limiter i get less stutter but screen tearing is noticable..

0.204 is amazingly smooth, small hesitation as loading but mostly noticeable only when loading AI packages or encounter such as wolf or bear (random wilderness encounters). I think this is due to sound files, not texture, and the AI starting up. Ran from Riverwood to Solitude at a mad dash, no freeze, no CTD...nice smooth 45-60 fps. Drops to ~45 were maybe half frames, much shorter than Vanilla cell loading.

Testing with textmipmapskip=1 seems to perform near the same as textmipmapskip=0, no freeze/ctd. Same run as above with lows near ~45, highs above 60 (should have had FixPhysics=true for this run).

0.204 seems ready to release.

On TAA...since I can now run 1920x1080 with higher than 40 fps, edgeAA + some delicate tweaking to DoF produces an un-aliased picture for me. And considering I run SLI, I can't really vote on that one. Could be good alternative for lesser machines...

Hi. Registered only to contribute with this historical work in skyrim. I'm finally able to play this game! Boris, this goes with the most and highest respect possible: you're the saviour of Skyrim. Bethesda made it, you fix it.

Now, my contribution: running super fine and I'm getting above 80 fps in almost everywhere, with hits up to 120fps. This version really rocks. But I'm facing loading issues and sometimes endless loading screens.

My specs:
- I7 3.8Gz 4GB RAM - GTX670 2GB VRAM - SSD as drive c: with Skyrim installed on it.
- Using Opethfeldt profile (amazing)
- uGrids 5
Code:
ExpandSystemMemoryX64=true
ReduceSystemMemoryUsage=true
DisableDriverMemoryManager=true
DisablePreloadToVRAM=false
ReservedMemorySizeMb=64 // reducing to this greatly helps to reduce stutters
EnableUnsafeMemoryHacks=true
EnableVSync=false
WaitBusyRenderer=false
EnableFPSLimit=false
FPSLimit=60.0
FixPhysics=false

I've noticed that when you reduce the specular distance fade from the game settings the stuttering reduces considerably as well.

Again, thanks for your great job Boris.

I've had good performance with 0201, but I'm getting a number of loading screen freezes both with 0201 and 0204. It's possible I just have too many mods, but I've been trying to prune them and it's still happening after I get to around level 25 or so on several different mod lists with different characters. I've tried with both disablepreload enabled and disabled, as well as several other options.

System is:
i7 2600k @4.6ghz
2x EVGA GTX 670 FTW+ 4GB

I normally maintain a solid 60fps everywhere, using Quietcool ENB on my 1080p TV, and I don't often drop below 50fps if I play on my 1600p monitor. I'd be happy to test anything out.

Thanks!

-stefan

I'm thinking many of the freezes/CTD/endless load screens are due to high skyrim.ini/skyrimprefs.ini settings. Is there someone who gets stables uGrids=7 that can post their skyrim ini files?

Boris, you would get more reliable results if you have a standard process for testing including enblocal.ini settings, skyrim ini files, maybe even a fresh save.... There are still many variables (like hardware, mods, and textures) but at least you would have some more consistent results.

You would also want results with user settings to find outlying variables as well.

Further testing with textmipmapskip=1 and t,t,t,32-512,f,f results in fairly smooth play unless a 180 spin is done, especially in 3rd person view. Test included load at Riverwood, full 360 spin, run to the stone up the road and spin 360 again, then another run back to Riverwood. Hesitation during spin could be as long as 2 seconds for me. Changing size from 32/128/256/512/1024 had very little impact on spinning in place.

For what its worth, I leave ugrids alone and don't really make any other ini tweaks either. I think they're largely the default files aside from the required ENB stuff and the imaxgrasstexures or whatever for SFO

I only use the textures from SFO, not the esp, I found it's too much.

Right, I don't use either esp (expanded diversity or the other one.) Right now I'm using 1.81b or whatever the "performance" one is.

Have you tried it without SLI, just to eliminate that as a possible cause?
