The Elder Scrolls Skyrim SE (SSE)

Re: TES Skyrim SE 0.417

Would it be possible, and reasonable, to get a separate parameter for indoor SSAO quality?

Under some shadow and lighting circumstances I get striping on characters and objects. I can mostly eliminate this by increasing the SSAO quality to Very High, however this comes with FPS cost.
It's mostly when you're inside that you're close enough to notice this though, and it's mostly indoors where you have all the point light sources causing problems anyways. Indoors also generally has higher FPS too since more off-screen objects can get culled. So this option would let me eliminate the issue without having to sacrifice FPS outdoors where I wouldn't notice the shadows as much anyways.

That or if you could possibly work your magic on the SSAO shadows like you did on the Detailed Shadows awhile back? :)

Refresh page via F5.

That require dublicate of shader, because quality can't be changed without recompiling just single. But i don't want to do this, because such thing must be global logically and whole effect have to be upgraded to something more suitable for modern hardware.

Re: TES Skyrim SE 0.417

Boris, I've noticed that the caustics have been changing over time: (At least 3 different types)

v0.378:

v0.380:

v0.383 - v0.417

It is a progress, undoubtedly, but the result depends on many factors, like water mod and lighting conditions, I guess. To my eyes the v0.378 has the best caustics.
Latest versions since the 0.383 have this dark pattern over. Is it possible to lighten this pattern (or make a brightness parameter to it)
or maybe make a "Type" parameter for caustics ? (to choose between the caustics from 0.378, 0.380 or 0.417)

Tested through all the versions with the Pure Waters.

Re: TES Skyrim SE 0.417

It is not darken pattern, it's energy preserving. Use not big values for caustic amount. Old skyrim version do not have this thing, so they make shallow water be very bright. Caustics use water textures and totally fake attempt in cheap way mimic this thing, i do not care how they looks like on your or somebody else taste, because they are made more or less good looking for vanilla game and two water mods, not just be good in one small puddle, but as compromise by quantity of places where it is okay, even if in others it is not.

Re: TES Skyrim SE 0.417

Ok, I have to admit - it looks better on vanilla water, but the vanilla water itself is very bad - water seams everywhere and all the water is flowing, including in the puddles and often the flow moves sideways in smaller rivers. And starts from the shore.

What are the two water mods you mentioned ?

Re: TES Skyrim SE 0.417

Ok, thanks. I guess this only leaves me with RWT, because W.A.T.E.R. is deleted from Nexus and could not find it anywhere else.
