Boris,

Sorry to bother you, but I'm running across some strange and inexplicable performance problems.

I'll lose up to 20 fps (or more) if I'm facing certain directions. I'm not sure exactly what's causing it, but I think it's related to either lights or particle effects. It always happens in the Riverwood Inn when facing the fire, and in many other areas.

Relevant Information:

ENBSeries Version 0.139.
Skyrim Version 1.8.151.0.7
Intel Core i5-2500K CPU @ 3.30GHz
4.00 GB RAM (please don't laugh)
Windows 7 Professional 64-bit edition
XFX AMD Radeon HD 6970 2GB.

Here's a pair of screenshots using a the standard files contained in your version 0.139 download, all effects disabled, and with #define ENB_FLIPTECHNIQUE in enbeffect.fx uncommented.

In the one with [GLOBAL]UseEffect=true, you can see my FPS has dropped to under 40.

Nothing I change in the enbseries.ini file prevents this FPS loss, except disabling ENB completely by settings UseEffect=false.

Can you help me find out what's causing this?

Don't know, this fire have very little amount of quads to talk about fillrate issue. Distortion of fire (heat?) is simple too. May be vertices or textures are locked by some reason or you have something in drivers turned on like surface format optimization and loading data to video memory take longer time to convert dxt. Only debugging may help probably.

I've tried everything I can think of to test this.

I've toggled every setting available in ENB.
I've toggled every setting available in my drivers.
I've disabled all mods.
I've removed all textures and meshes.
I've tried running Skyrim on low graphics.

I get 60 FPS ENBSeries v0.119. (vsync enabled)
I get 40 FPS with ENBSeries v0.139.

I can't think of anything that would cause this except a problem with ENB v0.139.

Is there anything else I can test, or any way I can get more debugging information?

I think we may have similar problems. I created a topic a little while ago (titled poor indoor including dungeon performance) that seems to be about the same thing, so please check it out and let me know so that we could both do some testing/troubleshooting.

If issue occur with all versions after 0.119 (like for OpTicSeaMan), then don't know, 0.120 differ only by multiple render targets and code in shaders to output data to them, this can't decrease performance in interior scenes only. Code which set matrix for transforming normal maps to camera space also fast for interiors. Do you have any better results in 0.141 when all effects off, but UseEffect=true?

Forgot to say, i don't know where to find performance issues, for me everything is the same. May be savegame and detailed instructions?

I have similar problems but my fps lose is indoor and outdoor ... hmm the problem is only in huge performs lose. I have without enb 30-50 fps and with my fps is 10-15 and i use only bloom effect . My GPU is a GT520 silly gpu :( and my question is did a have any chanse to use enb with this gpu ?
I'm sorry for posting here just i dont want to create new topic because the problem i think is my gpu and the problems is little similar the huge fps is definitely the same

I've tested v0.121212, 0.132, 0.139, and 0.141. All of them give the same FPS drop.

I've done all my testing using the same method:

1) Start Skyrim.
2) Bring up the console (~).
3) type "coc riverwoodsleepinggiantinn". This will take you to Sleeping Giant Inn, in Riverwood.
4) Look at the fire.

After more experimentation, it seems that the problem is caused by the direction of the sprites that make up either the fire, particle effects, or the light source of the fire. It may be something to do with shadow casting lights. Looking at the fire from the east side of the room gives an FPS drop, but looking at them from the west side of the room doesn't.

I've attached a save file in an area that shows this issue for me.

If there's anything else I can do to help find this bug, please let me know!

It's definitely something to do with the direction you are viewing Shadow Casting lights from.

I made a simple mod which changes the firelight in the Riverwood Inn from a Omnidirectional Shadowcaster to a simple Omnidirectional. This stopped the FPS loss.

I've attached the mod here for testing purposes, in case you are able to duplicate this issue.

I'm going to try this right now with K ENB and see if I have the same problem.

Same exact issue for me. My framerate when I get to the sleeping giant inn is at 30fps and drops to 7fps as soon as I look at the fire.

I have tried 3 presets and tested these binary's
0.132
0.139
0.141

I believe I have always had this issue, but never really took note of it and just always accepted the crappy framerate without though.

Skyrim Version 1.8.151.0.7
Intel Core2Duo E8500 CPU @ 3.30GHz
4.00 GB RAM
Windows 7 Professional 64-bit edition
XFX AMD Radeon HD 6850 1GB.
