ENB Glitch: I have black screen when DOF is enabled

ENB Glitch: I have black screen when DOF is enabled

the ENB is ultra-rare version of japanese DrrENB (Enb 2.6.5) My GPU is Radeon 7970

when the Deep of Field is enabled, in-game I have black screen! :cry:

I can only see the lines of text and menu, but the image of the game becomes completely BLACK

if I deactivate the Deep of Field, the image returns to normal :?

What exactly should I do to solve the problem, please ? :|

If you are absolutely sure that skyrimprefs.ini is set correctly, then only two possible reasons i know: 1) driver bug or any other software which hook in to game process; 2) depth of field shader bug. In second case, try another enbeffectprepass.fx shader file, like attached to this post for example. If it not works, find all copies of skyrimprefs.ini and make sure bFloatPointRenderTarget=1 is set in there, the problem mostly happens because of mod manager which dublicate configuration file. Not sure about antialiasing, but just in case make sure it's disabled in drivers and game video options.

yes.. the "bFloatPointRenderTarget" is set to =1 in Skyrimprefs.ini and the AA is disabled in Skyrim settings, is enabled from ENB

I tried with your enbeffectprepass.fx file, and I've tried other fx files from other ENBs, always the same..! black screen shortly after active DOF


I want to clarify that only this rare version of Drr ENB have this black screen glitch with DOF, different and more recent version Drr ENB (2.0) does not have this glitch, the same goes for all of the approximately 30 different ENBs I tried, all work perfectly with DOF active.


I asked Japanese author via Twitter (he does not understand English), says that he does not know why it happens, and not caused by him .. as I understand it

Try to replace enbseries.ini and enblocal.ini categories one by one with working version and test every changes, may be it's some invisible combination of parameters give such an issue.

EDIT: files in "enbseries" folder don't need dublicates in main game folder, try to keep files only in one place (except _weatherlist.ini, which is always in enbseries folder).

EDIT2: the only difference i remember with depth of field is that depth data exist in alpha channel of input texture for new versions of the mod, but all enbeffectprepass.fx shaders which i know are compatible with old and new versions of the mod, while in theory some of them may not work in new version.

EDIT3: the only difference of skyrimprefs.ini which may affect something in the mod are these parameters (my values):

This is the original readme file of the ENB:


このENBファイルは正式な手順で配布しているものではないので受注のみの配布です。 二次配布は厳禁です。

導入に関しては skyrimフォルダに突っ込んでください。 

ENB本体 Ver.265推奨  

普通のENB導入と同じですが、どのような影響を及ぼすかは不明なのでバックアップ必須です。 

enblocal.iniは含まれてないので各々環境に合わせて追加及び変更してください



このENBはHRK ENBをベースにUnkoENBのeffectをミックスしています。 映りはUnkoENBに近いです。 
本家UnkoENBより気持ち軽いかなという設定ですが、ミドル帯には重いかもしれません。

DrrrENBと同じくらいの重さです。


 enblensmask、enbsunsprite はお好みのものに差し替えても良いと思います。

 Shift+EnterでGUI開いてLENSの項目は状況に応じてON-OFFしてみてください。

 魔法のエフェクト等にレンズフレアが発生してキラキラして綺麗になることもあります。

 常用や光源の強い場所だとクドかったり眩しすぎて目が疲れちゃうのでオフってください


Drrr_ENB_1.5にて星の明るさをかなり上げたので夜空のリテクスチャで
 
 星雲を追加するMODとは相性良くないかもしれません・・・ 
 
 どっちも使いたいよ!って場合は

 GUI開いて SKY項目の StarsIntensity~の数値を1.0くらいにしてもらえば大丈夫です。

 Vanilla天候の場合は普通にUnkoENBを使用したほうがいいかもです・・・ 

 併用を推奨するMOD・・・。

 ・対策としてフェイスライトをダーク版に変える。 
  
 ・腰に下げるランタンMODなどを併用するなど対策をしてくだされば・・・

 
 色白キャラは光源の近くや太陽光に顔を向けると発光することもあるので注意です。 



I did not understand if it is incompatible with (I use all four mods)

Because you have tried different enbeffectprepass.fx and result is the same, issue is not in shader ini setting. enbeffectprepass_Immersive.fx file is not used when another enbeffectprepass.fx installed, so again not the culprit. Effect.txt file is not affected by depth of field effect at all. Depth of field do not have any incompatibility with other mods, if something not works, then it's visible in general, not just dof, for example ssao will fail. Could you share that preset so i could check myself everything?

when I open in-game the ENB settings menu, when I click in the a drop-down menu setting, is open for a split od a second and then closes again forcibly!
