detailed shadows only exist on the right side of the screen. lots of flickering in and out while walking.

Detailed shadows are okay with shadowboost mod, they are independent. And detailed shadows are screen space effect, so it have typical glitches.

No, you didnt say half screen. It's fine if they are cropped on the edge of screen only, right, left or top/bottom. I never seen the bug you talking about, maybe cause game was updated recently? Will check later, but if it's not buggy on my rig, i can't help.

its difficult to see without video, but look in the center of the screen near (below) the roof at the front of the house. as i pan left or right the shadow follows. if you download the images and view as a slideshow its apparent

Very difficult to say, i can see issue just in front on the roof part. Is this happen everything in middle on the screen? In that case maybe you have some mod installed which change sun or sky, so direction can't be detected. Can't see where normal shadows are in the game, if they exist at all.

everything to the left of the center of the screen is missing with detail shadow. that picture doesn't really do it justice because shadows on the right hand side exist normally, they just dont seem to be within range.
are the detail shadows at all related to the fallout game shadow settings?
if it were a sky issue, would i be looking at solely meshes or could this be a texture issue?
this seems to be happening with no mods.
im gonna keep trying to isolate it. ill tell you if i find the culpret

so, ive tried
resetting all enb settings
removing all mods
validating files
nothing works.
however depending on the day the left or the right side of the screen will disappear. always at the center of the screen. and moving forward or backward will cause the shadows to flicker. is there a distance setting for detailed shadows? is this effected by FOV?
i just installed a new gpu, but the drivers are up to date.

Detailed shadow depends from game shadow setting, if i remember, so do not use low quality. About sky, texture mods do not influence, just a shader and all vectors of sun and sky are important (so path of the sun). I can't test this soon, busy with other modding, but this definetly not right and not how the mod worked before. If you do not use Steam version, but some old cracked, could be a reason. Driver bug? I doubt that, the effect is dependable on sky only and depth buffer data, which would be seen as buggy too if anything wrong with drivers.
