After about.. 7 or so hours of constant tinkering, I figured it was high time I acquired some professional help.

I've been trying to get ENB v0219 to work with my Skyrim for most of the day now, and I simply cannot fathom the reason it doesn't. I saw they added a performance booster so I figured I'd try it out.. upon completely removing the old ENB and anything related, I installed v0219 and then Seasons of Skyrim ENB. I started up the injector like I usually would, then started up Skyrim, instantly noticing it took a lot longer to pull up than usual, after a bit of waiting, the game crashed with no warnings, simply closed itself before even reaching the title screen, a second attempt got me to the title screen, but I couldn't see a thing, around the 6th attempt, I was able to play the game with no issues, but after closing it and opening it back up.. it started to occur again.

So I uninstalled it completely, and once more, re-installed the Wrapper version and Injector version, both this time.. and it worked.. until I closed the game and added the ENB flavor: Seasons of Skyrim. So I removed that.. and reinstalled once more.. only for it to just.. stop working completely. I remove it all and run the game, and it works great, no issues at all.. besides of course the sudden drop in graphics quality from lack of ENB.

From what I can gather.. it's the Injector that keeps Skyrim from opening, for if I run it without it.. it works just fine with the ENB installed, and if I run it with it.. Well, it 95% of the time fails, and on rare occasions works.. but 4 % of the time it works.. the Sky is black/missing, and there are no particle effects such as fog, and shadows are completely absent.

I also installed SweetFX.. not sure if that would cause any issues, but I figured I'd add that in just in case.

I've exhausted my knowledge on the matter, and thus, would appreciate any help on solving this issue, thank you all in advance.

It's incompability with some other software or certain skse plugins.

Hmm, what changed in the ENB update that would suddenly make something I had installed before updating ENB incompatible?

Any suggestions as to what I should look for?

You wrote nothing, so i can't answer. Even don't know which previous version you have used successfully.

I used v0.168 with Seasons of Skyrim ENB preset.

As for the rest.. well, I'll need to know what you'd like to see! What information would you deem useful in this particular matter? Mod list? Plugin Load Order? Skyrim Directory screenshot?

I'm rather new to posting threads on bugs.. so I do apologize for failing to post up the required information.

If 0.168 work for you, then issue with other software or skse plugins. Afterburner, XFire, EVGA, etc etc etc.

Okay, so how do I test these and see which one it is?

Remove all your ENB files from Skyrim folder and make sure there are no left over data files associated with another ENB. Once you are sure everything is removed and clean, do a fresh install of Seasons, following Bronze316's instructions. Copy over the d3d9.dll 219 binary and the enbhost.exe you download from here, and just those two files. Use the wrapper first as that is the most common.

Disable any third-party software as Boris doesn't support that. Don't run any of it. Just ENB, Skyrim, and SKSE. No boosters, injectors, monitors, etc. Make sure enbhost.exe is set to run with admin rights (may want to also set that for the skyrim launcher, SKSE and tesv.exe). Make sure virus protector is not blocking enbhost.

Also make sure you have clean skyrim.ini and skyrimpref.ini settings. May want to make a fresh copy (make a copy then delete them from your my docs games skyrim folder. Run the steam launcher and the skyrim tool will recreate fresh INI files. After that just edit the INI files with those changes recommended to run an ENB.

Lastly make sure you have correct memory settings in your enblocal.ini file (Bronze has directions for these - not to mention they are all over the net as well as these forums).

Then try running the game and see if that helps. Can also try with the injector.

Seems to be working now! Thank you so very much, I was really at the end of the rope here.

Anyway, everything is running a whole lot smoother, with mods and all. I guess it was Skyrim.ini and Skyrimprefs.

Thank you a bunch, Wolfgrim, ya saved my Skyrim.

Just glad I could help. It is easy for the INI files to collect tweaks that cause issues. Plus its good practice to refresh them when switching around ENBs a lot.
