This is config problem, not an issue with ENB itself.

There are several configs that have been unusable for me since around 214 or so. K ENB, Unreal Cinema, Somber & Somber Lut Sepia all create extreme pitch-black shadows outside during the daytime. I've used many versions of Unreal Cinema and K ENB before without problems. Interiors and night seem fine, it's only outside during the day.

I tracked it down to enbseries.ini (for a long time I thought it was postprocessing), but I still can't fix it. Turning off SSAO didn't work. Turning up the IL settings to 30+ works, but I get weird effects, where I'll be standing looking at vegetation that looks OK, then turn 2 degrees and have the magic black paint flick back on. It's like contrast has been amplified a huge amount, but only on shadows.

It's definitely not the enbpalette, either. Any ideas?

I didn't any changes which may cause the problem like yours. Are you sure it's because of versions?

I don't know, but I don't think it's from any changes you made. I think it's only a change in the config files, that several modders are copying. It's odd, because it's very difficult to soften shadows at all, which is why I thought it was a postprocess effect for a while.

Some configs built on recent ENBs (214 - 224), like Kountervibe or Phinix, are fine.

I adapted Sharpshooters ENB because I had exactly the same problem. After endless trials I finally found out that - at least for me - SkyLighting wasn't used at all by Sharpshooter, turned it on and the shadows got transparant again. Of course then further adjustments (ambient/direct/point/sky etc.) were necessary to balance the look. In the end I uploaded what I reached to Nexus, cause I thought some people might have the same problem, here is the link: http:\\skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/44034//?

Maybe you just try it and if it doesn't work you know it is definetly not a problem with the ENB settings :).

PS: ..mh that may sound like advertising for my mods, but I really just wanna help :D
