I recently went back into Skyrim and decided to give the graphics an overhaul. I installed the RealVision ENB mod package, following PredCaliber's revised tutorial to the letter. This is following a complete deletion and clean reinstall of Skyrim.
Now when I play I get black/white occasional flickering on the sky and ground, similar to this video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IUeF3UakHUsI messed with the settings a bit and this is what I found out:
EnableMist causes very strong sky flicker, no matter the settings.
Occlusion Culling creates a black flicker on the entire screen, unless Original Post-Processing and Original Object Processing are checked.
Reducing AOAmount and AOIntensity to 0 eliminates ground flicker, so does checking Original Post-Processing and Original Object Processing.
Disabling Mist and Volumetric Rays eliminates sky flicker.
WaitForBusyRender has no effect.
Various fixes do nothing.
Disabling Proxy does nothing.
Disabled Ambient Occlusion for TESV using NVIDIA Inspector. No change.
All other settings are per recommendation.
Some specs:
Win7 64-bit
8GB RAM
CPU: Intel Core i7-3770 @ 3.4GHz
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680 with 4GB VRAM. Drivers are 335.23.
Any help would really be welcomed as I've been searching everywhere and couldn't find a proper solution.
EXTRA: It seems there's some sort of issue with the AmbientColorFilterAmount setting. When AmbientColorFilterAmountDay and AmbientColorFilterAmountNight are set to 0, I get white flicker on ground and objects when I have Ambient Occlusion on. Set them to 1, and the flicker disappears.
Also, even after disabling Volumetric Rays, I still get Volumetric Rays, which is strange but welcome. EnableMist still causes strong white flicker on the sky, though...
