I've had my game working great for months. However I just decided to use Skyrim Mod Combiner to add a whole bunch of textures I felt needed updating. It seems to have worked fine in that all the textures are there, BUT enb is now really out of whack Modlist: http://www.modwat.ch/u/Core_ten (This is with all the mods from SMC. I have tried going back to an older profile but it didn't affect the bug) Settings Skyrim.ini: http://i.imgur.com/1EjRmIK.png SkyrimPrefs.ini: http://i.imgur.com/0jWe4PI.png Nvidia Control Panel Part 1: http://i.imgur.com/FqZNyWd.png Nvidia Control Panel Part 2: http://i.imgur.com/F0H4uxI.png enblocal.ini: http://pastebin.com/TFjSkXg9 I was originally using enbseries 0.301 with Natural Lighting and Atmospherics enb. Switched to 0.292 and also tried 0.305 to see if that'd help but no luck. Screenshots of the bug: http://imgur.com/a/PbKuY All of those were taken within a few minutes/seconds of each other... They do show the bug but it looks even worse in a lot of areas. This bug occurs when:
Opening the enb menu in game with Shift+Enter Equipping/unequipping a torch Opening/closing the steam overlay Taking a screenshot Brightness/saturation/gamma seems to be what is changing. When doing any of those listed items, the game colors/shadows can go from extremely bright to dark in an instant. Since discovering this bug I have tried:
Deleting all enb related files and installing fresh Reverting back to my old MO profile from before adding all the new mods Making a completely fresh MO profile with no mods, and just the base enb running Completely deleting my data folder and installing skyrim/skse/enb all fresh Nothing has worked. The bug is still exactly the same. I was thinking maybe some setting could have been changed. I am 99% sure all of my game settings are proper but ill posted them above in case someone spots something. I'm at a loss... Thanks in advance for any insight. Core_ten |

Sounds really odd... you wouldn't happen to have any crapware running at the background? |

I have razer synapse, sophos antivirus, Nvidia Inspector, and steam running but nothing else. They never interfered before. Oh also I just added my enblocal to my original post. I also added another thing to the list of things I've tried to fix it. I just made a fresh MO profile, edited the ini's, and launched the game with no mods. Same exact bug. |

Image definitely shouldn't be changing when doing the stuff you described so there's something really weird going on. Have you tried temporarily closing down all the unnecessary background applications and then testing? You can use Task Manager to force end task. |

Are you using the steam overlay? A recent update by steam wrecked havoc with ENB and SFX across different OS and video cards. Reports indicate brightness issues and other visual glitches. |

Here is my process tab after a restart: http://s21.postimg.org/bzha3q14n/Capfddfture.png wolfgrimdark yes I am using the overlay. I have heard it can mess stuff up but until now I had had no issue. Thanks for the tip. How can I disable it? Will I lose the ability to chat with people? Okay so there seems to have been some sort of miracle (or I'm a dummy). I let Skyrim create a completely fresh enblocal.ini, launched with no mods, and voila no bug. I activated my profile that has those 206 .esps. Created a new game, no bug. Maybe my enblocal.ini did have some weird setting. I don't remember changing it but meh lol. I'm going to edit this new fresh one to include the proxy d3d9_smaa.dll again because that is the AA I use, and also add the recommended STEP changes for enblocal again. I will follow up here to let you both know if this is truly fixed or a fluke! |

After editing my enblocal.ini to include the proxy library d3d9_smaa.dll, and editing the enblocal.ini according to STEP the bug is back. I also just disabled the proxy library and re-launched. The bug is gone. It seems to be that simple. So either the external SMAA recommended by STEP is no longer working with enbseries + NLA, or mine got messed up somehow. I will download a fresh one and try it out and report back. BTW thanks to both of you for your help! |

No I would say it is the steam overlay. I suspect that proxy is the SMAA from SweetFX. Using SweetFX plus ENB with the Steam overlay enabled is the problem - at least from what it sounds like (enable proxy to load sweetfx SMAA file and the problem occurs, don't enable and the problem goes away). Course it isn't really enabling SMAA that is the problem but Steam. Try disabling the overlay and see if the problem goes away. If that is the case you will need to either live without SweetFX or the Steam overlay unless Steam fixes it. You could try just using EdgeAA in ENB or TAA. I love TAA myself as it works far better than Edge or SMAA on my setup. But it does have the motion artifacts involved but for me personally that is a small price for the better AA. |

Ah I see. In the SMAA injector.ini there is an option for "weird_steam_hack = 0" with the description "set to 1 to improve steam overlay compatibility" I'll try this and if that is not working I will try disabling steam overlay. |

Good luck - not sure what that setting does. FYI: Click on the "In-Game Settings" tab. 2) Uncheck the box next to "Enable Steam Community In-Game" and click OK. 3) Disable the Steam Overlay on specific games only by right-clicking on the game title, click on "Properties" and uncheck "Enable Steam Community In-Game" in the "General" tab |
