[Linux] TES Skyrim SE - 0.452 vs 0.347

Hello,

I don't expect Linux users to be specifically supported, however I have been able to use 0.347 enb series in Linux. My preferred presets are geared towards 0.452.

When attempting to play using 0.452 I get a black screen with initial message telling me to enable shader cache (which is enabled in both my ini and gfx driver already) and then crash to desktop.

Are there any logs kept by enb or other means by which I can trace the error causing this?

Regards,
Obelisk79

EDIT: I forgot to say, "Thank you for your work on ENB, it really makes my gaming experience much better!"

No logs or something else like that. Message is just informative, nothing special on practice. I only can try to help by giving different versions till find which one do not work, but that's a lot of time and not guarantee i will find workaround after all.

I am willing to test out older versions. Should I list ones to try, or do you want to pm a link for an archive of many versions I can start to experiment with?

Test those versions to find which started to not work for you and report back, so i will do experimental in between.

Re: [Linux] TES Skyrim SE - 0.452 vs 0.347

First, thank you for providing the archive of files.

I believe this is a problem related to nvidia linux drivers.

In order to run skyrim on linux I use a custom version of proton-wine with DXVK. If you are unfamiliar, it is a wrapper that take DirectX calls and converts them to the vulkan API.
I have read that the AMD drivers do not experience the same problems. If I am able to discover which DirectX api calls are failing I will share that information here.

Here is a link to a github discussion about this issue: https://github.com/doitsujin/dxvk/issues/865

I tested all of the versions in the archive you gave me, and all behaved the same. Only 0.347 works.

Obelisk

Here are tests, check them and report which works and which not. Also try turn off skylighing effect under [EFFECT] category of enbseries.ini and tell if it works

Thanks I'll give it a try. I'm having some problems with steam that I need to fix first. I'll let you know how the test goes.

Re: [Linux] TES Skyrim SE - 0.452 vs 0.347

Test2 worked.

I did get some console errors from DXVK which detected the hook from ENB. But I noted that I get those messages with 0.347 also and they may not be critical.

CreateShaderModule: Class linkage not supported

D3D11RasterizerState: Antialiased lines not supported

D3D11DXGIDevice::QueryInterface: "Unknown interface query 6543dbb6-1b48-42f5-ab82-e97ec74326f6

Error(AntTweakBar)>>Not Initialized

Also, I noted that the ENB menu overlay could only be opened when the Bethesda logo is open. Afterwards the game catches the enter key for the game menu and I cannot close the overlay. I have not tested any custom shaders yet.

It's not the game catches input, but your OS do, already heard such complains from another user. Running the games in such perverted way do not guarantee 100% compatibility. Next tests
