Skyrim Black Screen

Hello, recently I reinstalled Skyrim on my pc, I want to play it again, since there were new DLC's and stuff, anyway, I upgraded to Windows 8 from 7, after some problems (not related to Skyrim) I completely formatted the pc and started completely fresh. The game runs flawlessy with a bunch of mods, including graphics mods, and everything maxed. But as soon as I install an ENB, the game turns almost completely black, the only thing I can see is the top left screen notifications, for example when I pick something up, it will show up what I picked up there. Also in the menu, I cannot see the Dragon Logo, only the options (Continue, New, Load, etc) There is audio, but I can't see anything from the game. If I uninstall, that is, delete every ENB file on the directory, the game runs perfectly fine again. Is there any solution to this problem?

My specs:

Windows 8 Pro 64x
Intel Core i5 2300
ATI Sapphire 7870 Ghz Edition
6GB RAM
1TB HDD (Games are in /D instead of /C)
400w power supply

The computer is not custom. The only thing changed is the video card. It used to be an Nvidia GT530 1GB.
The computer is an Asus CG 8250 essentio.

Thank you.

Re: Skyrim Black Screen

Which ENB version? If above 0.119 but below 0.144 make sure you're not forcing AA.

It might also be a driver related issue due to switching from Nvidia to ATI.

I used v0.148, the latest one as far as I know. I can't see any v0.144 though, the only one before 148 is 139.
And about AA, do you mean on Catalyst Control Center or Skyrim Launcher?
Also, as I said, I formatted the pc, there are no traces left of Nvidia drivers whatsoever.

Never heard about such bug, so don't think somebody will help. It's other software related or drivers.

Re: Skyrim Black Screen

Did you install a clean copy of Windows or the bloated Asus version? If the latter and you know what you're doing, try disabling all the unnecessary processes and services.

Also, can you install a clean Windows 7 x64 on a different partition? If you have access to install media, it's a quick test.

Re: Skyrim Black Screen

I'm sure I've read somewhere that ENB has issues with Windows 8, though where I read it I cannot for the life of me remember (or fathom as to why it would even be an issue). Don't take my word for it though.

I would make sure your drivers are up to date through AMD. I would also disable any other mods like Cot, ELFX, RLO, etc if you are using them. Anything that may affect lighting at all. There could very well be a conflict here (and is normally the case in alot of scenarios like this)

Also if you could please answer the following questions...

1: Are you using a premodified ENB configuration created by another user or the standard ENB files from the download section of enbdev.com?

2: Have you tried using the Injector?

3: What are your Catalyst Control Centre settings?

4: Is your graphics card overclocked?

5: Do you have any third party software running (including overclocking software)?

CCC Doesn't let me look for updates no more, so I'm sure that it should warn me when there is an update automatically. There are new beta releases, but they are made specifically for Crysis 3. Also I don't want to be using Beta drivers right now, could cause more problems.

I have ELFX, I uninstalled it, still not working.

1: I used Sharpshooters ENB.

2: Yes, also didn't work.

3: Everything is default, as in I don't touch it.

4: It's a Sapphire 7870 Ghz Edition, so it probably comes overclocked out of the box, but if you mean if I overclocked it, then no.

5: Nope.

Guys I have tried everything. My computer is running perfectly, everything works but the ENB.
I'm guessing the problem is really Windows 8, as I remember when I tried ENB on another game, I think it was Fallout 3 and New Vegas, I had to use the Injector version for it to work. So I really don't know what to do here. Anyway, thank you all for the help.
