Black screen in Fallout New Vegas.

I'm experiencing a black screen every time I get into game. Everything is black except for the hud. For me I'm using an ATI video card 5550 GB1 to be exact. I have tried disabling the AA in my CCC to try and fix the problem but that didn't work. Any helpful suggestions?
