I have scoured the internet for hours and have done everything correctly. The mod is installed and works fine, except for the render distance is extremely short. I thought it was due to SSAO being in fast mode but it is even like this in slow mode. Does anyone know why and how to fix? and my graphics settings are on Ultra.

The mod can't do anything to drawing distance, run skyrimlauncher and configure everything.

I did that as well. Clicked Ultra, even went under 'Advanced' to look and see if anything was changed before I clicked Ultra and nothing did seem to be changed. But I'm not really sure what each option really does under advanced so I couldn't tell you specifically if something was messed up a bit.

Then remove the mod and set everything again, if not work, then skyrimprefs.ini messed up.

do you know what part of skyrimprefs.ini would control that? I would rather start with something easily changed then having to go through and delete everything associated with the mod

I don't know. Just delete (backup first) skyrimprefs.ini and start the game again.
