In my current ENB preset, if I use volumetric rays, there is a VAST difference in the brightness of the sky and richness of color. It is particularly noticeable in game (I am using both rays and volumetric rays combined because it creates the effect I want). This is true even if sky coloration is turned all the way to zero. I do not like the way this happens at all. What is really weird is that this washed out look DID NOT APPEAR when I was adjusting the values in game. It did not appear until I closed out and reloaded the game. Is there any way to remove this affect and still use volumetric rays? The only difference between these two pictures is the enabling of volumetric rays.

"apply changes" button must be used to see final result, not pressing it is the only reason of difference after restarting the game (different weather and clouds is different story). Anyway, i don't see anything wrong on screenshot and it's not "washed out", you should understand how atmospheric scattering works (or any light scattering in air or water) to not be dissapointed from not expected results.

I understand the concept of scattering. Where is this controlled in the ENB settings?

Hmm... none of those settings changed scattering; or at least they didn't reduce the scattering much. I finally ended up using the new Color Filters in the sky (gradients) to get it right. Now it looks the way I want.

That's right, because what we see as the sky in real life is almost pure result of scattering, without it colors are much more different and apply scattering on the sky which already have normal colors is what confusing beginners.
