I'm really new at modding and I understand I just download and where to extract but I am unsure of what order to do so?

Do I first download and extract the ENBoost v0.283 file into the Fallout 4 directory. Then run game to make sure it's correctly installed.

Then I download and extract the ENBSeries v0.291 file into the Fallout 4 directory. Then overwrite (it asks me to do this). Then I'm all set to start playing and adding new presets if I want?

If you will try to install ENBoost, then any preset replaces it, because ENBSeries includes ENBoost features, you need manually modify enblocal.ini to adjust memory setting. The best way to install is to download official files, extract to game folder (except readme, license), then download preset(s) and just replace files from presets with already installed. If you don't like preset, replacing files with another one may not work, because of files added in older preset, but not required in new one (but loaded by the mod anyway), so manually deleting all files which previous preset have guarantee proper functionality of new one. You may install presets while playing, but don't forget to press "load config" and then "apply changes" in internal editor or it will not be loaded or even could be replaced with old kept in memory.

Ok so I would just download 2.91 from the FO4 ENB page? Then I'll be able to bring up the ENB menu in game?

Yes. Mod itself is d3d11.dll library, other files are preset configurations and shaders.

Ok so no renaming the "ReShade64.dll" to "dxgi.dll" then? Sorry if this sounds common sense to you and not me as I'm very new to this. I'd rather want to know how to make my own presets using ENB/ReShade rather than download somebody's preset, hence all my questions.

Thanks so much for answering my questions though!

Maybe now the in game overlays and such will show up like I've seen in YouTube videos on the various presets I was trying.

That's where I was getting confused. Since I had originally tried to install a preset for ReShade that had the option to install the enboost to help with performance. Then I just tried installing just the ENBSeries/ENBoost and thought the ReShade Framework was necessary.

I found out it's not but can be used in conjunction with one another I believe.

Check how presets are made which have ReShade included.
