Let SMIM overwrite, don’t remember any more but probably those had some minor issue and overwriting shouldn cause a radical difference.

Hi Mindflux, thought I would ask about these below meshes. They, I think, are in need of the same updates as the one you currently have in your patch. The campfire01burning.nif
campfire01landburningup.nif
campfire01landburning.nif
fireplacewood01burning.nif
campfire01landburningup.nif
campfire01landburning.nif
fireplacewood01burning.nif

Those are from Embers HD, right? Yes, it’s in need of a long delayed update.

Yeah precisely. I was looking at them and the one in the current Particle Patch file. And it was a jungle to me, been too long since I've used and altered .nif files….

@Mindflux I think I found a light source not covered in the Particle Patch for the new particle lighting: https://imgur.com/a/reaiZW4 Unless I have something hidden in a BSA somewhere that's changing that mesh. Those are in Dragonsreach in Whiterun.
Hope everyone had a good Christmas!

You're right, it doesn't work - blame it on me for not having tested this stuff properly due to being too busy.
I believe it doesn't work because the effect is made of billboards instead of particles. The next version of Embers HD will sort this issue but I'm not sure yet when it will be released.

Really, it's not a big deal. Just figured I'd let you know. You already do so much for everyone by maintaining the Particle Patch and Embers/Smoking Torches. If you get to it, great, if not, that's fine as well.mindflux wrote:You're right, it doesn't work - blame it on me for not having tested this stuff properly due to being too busy.

No worries and I might have talked out of my ass in any case since I just noticed that they do respond to complex particle light parameters, at least with the meshes I have here.
Sadly there's really no light cast even with big range enabled, possibly the brazier object is blocking it.

Im not in the topic, but as can see, those fireplace things in the game have some glow which can be modified to emit light.
